Trying To Understand ED - From a Husband's Point of View
avatar
unfulfilled posted:
I've read every article about ED. I've participated in discussion groups of wives coping with ED and husbands discussing ED. I don't need to know what ED is or need any empathy.

I want to chat with husbands who are living with ED in their relationship. I want to be able to ask them questions I don't dare ask my husband or if I do, he doesn't answer. I want to answer questions you have that you want to ask your wife. In other words, what's REALLY going on and what REALLY concerns you. Any takers???

this ED thing is no joke.. so many of us are having it as early as 21 ..i'm 57 could it be something in the food.. i almost don't want to have sex because of it.. the pill doesn't always work and my insurance does not cover much so it's expensive.. anyway, if there is something you have tried over the counter please let me know .. thanks

You need to join FrankTalk.org. There are a few women there and the men are very kind to those ladies to help them. That website is devoted to E D and solutions. Men there are discussing ED drugs, injections, and the final solution, implants.

They will be very kind and supportive of you as the men there and their wives are battling ED and its emasculation of men.

Get going. Hope to see you on the website.

europelover Thanks for the FrankTalk.org web site. I came to WebMD coz my new man is having a hard time keeping an erection. I don't know how to suggest he see his doctor, without offending him...he seems really frustrated about this. He can get an erection, but can't maintain it enough to keep penetration, or sometimes penetrate at all. He's a heavy smoker and has been smoking for decades, so I'm worried this is an early sign (or not so early) of circulatory issues or heart disease.

Does anyone out there know of a way to gently suggest he see's a doctor without emasculating him?

Do you two speak at all about this concern? If not, maybe you need to show him the community and how many men, of every age are experiencing ED problems. Also, I would make it a point to let him know, you are concerned about him and his health because you do care. Often ED is a side effect of an underlying cause and you would hate for him to suffer without seeing a doctor.

Here is the WebMD Erectile Dysfunction Overview to Facts and Causes for you to read and hopefully share with him. ED can be the result of stress, poor physical health, disease, medication, etc. Let him now that you care and he is not alone. I wish you both the best! Take care and keep us posted.
Best Wishes! Amelia

Most of what I've read about Levitra (which I take) and other ED meds say that it lasts on average 4 hours, but at the same time, they say don't take it more than once in 24 hours. Is it dangerous to take more than one dose within 24 hours?

I have had it about 2 years. I have tried Viagra,Levitra and Cialis. Cialis is the only one that seems to work for me now. I like the fact that I dont automatically get an erection with Cialis but it comes when I need it to.
