Can only climax when flaccid

I am having a problem climaxing. I know this is a common problem, but I may have some unusual circumstances that make this even harder to diagnose.

I'm a 30yr male who eats healthy and works out. I did have a spinal cord injury to my C4 &C5 that left me an incomplete quad when I was 20. I started walking a year later and now almost have made a full recovery. Please don't take this as me complaining, I'm very thankful for what I've gotten back but when things only work halfway I think it's only human to try an figure out the problem.

So my situation, I have no problem getting an erection or keeping it for hours; but when I'm erect I can't orgasm. I can only orgasm every now and then when, after being erect I go flaccid and masterbate. I also have to be in a sitting position with my legs firmly pressing against the ground, as if in a constant leg press. When I'm doing this I can feel the muscle contraction necessary to reach ejaculation. When I'm erect I cannot feel this muscle contraction. Also oral sometimes cause me to loose this feeling as I'm guessing the sensation or pressure is too much for the muscles.

Due to the spinal cord injury I know this is much harder to resolve which caused me not to explore it for a decade b/c my last urologist was clueless and just gave me viagra.

So I guess my question is; Is there a way to strength the muscles to reach climax while erect?

Thanks for all the advice and help. I apologize for the lengthy message. Just wanted to give you as much info as possible.

Additional Info that may help with diagnoses
- I do get erections constantly throughout the day 5-7 times.
- before i climax I go from flaccid to a semi-errection.
-when I climax that sensation of holding before the release is absent. It's usually a quick climax as soon as I start to feel it.
- when I'm flaccid and masturbating I have to take breaks and start again. I do this because at the start I can usually tell if that muscle contraction will flex and hold so I can climax.
-When I say that muscle contraction I believe I'm refereeing to Kegels exercise.
-I've begun trying to stop my stream when urinating to try give my prostrate a workout.
-when i have the urge to urinate I only have a little time before I'll just go. This causes me to wear a bag when I go out sometimes.
- I was on a med a long time ago to help with emptying my bladder but the muscle contractions became too intense.
-I have to use a magic bullet (suppository) to have a daily bowel movement.
-I hardly ever drink alchol. I rarely smoke marijuana
-As I mentioned about oral, near climax it causes me to lose the feeling unless I'm pass a certain point in which I climax too fast without any good sensation.
-in the beginning oral can get me and erect and keep me erect but too much along with vaginal, and I usually mean over an hr, will cause me to have to urinate.

I think that's all the info I have for now. Thanks again

I suggest you to go for kegel exercise, it would help to strengthen pelvic muscles and would give your orgasm.

It sounds like there could have been some nerve damage, also? If thats the case, you may never get past where you are now? Hopefully, its not. Keep on with the excersizes, that is about all you can do, i think?

Best of luck, to you, Dennis
