Retina Tear

Just had lasser surgery for retina tear 2 days ago. My doctor says will take time to get my sight back. I don't see any change in my vision since the surgery. I am concerned about a retinal detachment. Should I not see some improvement by now?

Alan M Kozarsky, MD responded:
This could be normal (a few drops of blood in the eye from the retinal tear) or could represent the progression to a retinal detachment.

Probably best to call the doctor that performed the laser to seal the retinal tear.
