    bump on eyelid

    My son has a hard bump in the middle of his eyelashes on the eyelid. It does not seem to bother it unless it is touched. Does anyone have any ideas on what it is and how to heal it? It is just a hard bump that is not an abnormal color and does not have a "head" on it. Thanks

    Any bump near the lashes is in the family of sty or chalazion until proven otherwise. Especially if tender. Other possibilities include virus associated bumps or cysts or.........

    If it is tender to touch, it's safe to treat it like a stye using warm compresses frequently. If it does not start to resolve in a week or two, it would be smart to let an ophthalmologist take a look.
