Presents as Pinkeye
Goldlockedmonster posted:
My eyes are very blood shot and very very painful. Mostly in one eye. The one eye is not dialating. The pain is unbearable. My eye throbs with pain. I have been to the doctor. I was thought to have pinkeye in the recent past and am now told that was not the problem. It has been reoccouring. When I pull my bottom eye lid down there is a white patch that is not blood shot like the rest of the eye. Very sensitive to light! Blurry. Hurts more to move my eyes around. Please help!!!

This sounds very painful.

The combination of a very painful eye, light sensitivity, and a pupil that is smaller in the more irritated eye than the less irritated eye is very suggestive of deep inflammation inside the eye. This is not what we usually see in "pinkeye" (conjunctivitis).

You need to see an ophthalmologist very soon to expertly assess the problem and very likely put you on treatment that will rapidly help you.

Find an ophthalmologist by going to and selecting the tab "Find an Eye MD" and enter your location.
