    Exciting News for WebMD Members!

We've been busy behind the scenes building new message boards for you. You'll have new and easier ways to find messages, connect with others, and share your stories.

And, this will all be available on your smartphone or other mobile device!

What Do You Need to Do?

The message board you're used to will be closing in the coming weeks. While many of your boards will be making the move to our new home, your posts will not. Want to keep a discussion going? Save posts you want to continue (this includes your member profile story), so that you can re-post them in the new message boards.

Keep an eye here and on your email inbox, we'll be back in touch soon to give you all the information you need!

Why is it that people are telling me that my 8 year old is too young to be diagnosed with bipolar? Can someone let me know how I can get my son the correct diagnosis for my son?

The very best tool you can have for your life and your son's life is to find a top-notch, board certified Child Psychiatrist.

You need to do a lot of research and ask a thousand questions.

Here is a link to help find Dr.s in your area.

My daughter was diagnosed at age 7 with "mood disorder", which is not an uncommon diagnosis for children who may eventually end up with full-blown bipolar. Often times children develop into other diagnosis as they age.
Proper treatment and medication is what is most important for a young child that is suffering.

Take care, and write back anytime!
