Attention parents of bipolar children OR children with similar behaviour issues RE: meds

My child is 6 turning 7 tmrw... he struggled for over a year with rage fits and unable to focus in school or anything. Our family has a history of bipolar.. so its kind of assumed at this point.. without being to quick to label... but i did not want to go the drug/med route.. but decided it had to be done. In the summer we tried quietipine (sorry for any misspellings) and it turned him into a phsycotic monster. Then we tried resperidone. It was absolutely amazing. His entire life improved. It had been rough on all of us for a very long time. And i dont like being upset with my kid and he sure didnt like being in trouble. And finally our days were just wonderful. He had been on it from august 2013 until today. Unfortunately. There is a mass lawsuit both in canada and the usa regarding resperdal resperidone. many people arent aware of this lawsuit because it is under the name resperdal. Resperdal and resperidone is the same drug same product... resperdal is the company. Look it up people. It made me cry because i feel awful that i even went the drug route in the first place then to find out the one that helped him could actually harm him much much worse. I have discussed with his doctor and we are goin to try abilify. I really hope this works. Fingers crossed.
