    Exciting News for WebMD Members!

What Do You Need to Do?

The message board you're used to will be closing in the coming weeks. While many of your boards will be making the move to our new home, your posts will not. Want to keep a discussion going? Is this fibro or not?

I was recently dxnd w/fibro. I do feel better since starting Cymbalta & Neurontin. However, everyday I do not have energy and have some type of pain everyday. My rheumatologist acts like this shouldn't be an everyday thing. Am I crazy? Because everyday is a struggle some days worse than others. Is this typical with fibromyalgia?

Don't fret, you are not alone! I am the same way. I take Tradadol and i still have pain everyday. Ill have a bad headache one day, or my knees will kill my another day..the worst is the IBS. It sucks! Some days are worse than others but when its bad its bad. Ive gotten used to the minimal pain and you will too...but everyday struggle is part of the fibro. Thats why chatting with people with it sometimes helps. It can be just as much a mental struggle as physical.

Thanks Jenna, I think I am going to look for a new rheumatologist. My PCP sent a referral to a neurologist to make sure is not multiple sclerosis. I agree I can deal w/minimal pain but days that my legs hurt I just want to bang my head against the wall.

I agree with Jenna - it's an everyday struggle. I've had this for 40 years now. You have good days and bad days but all days have pain in there. I don't remember ever not hurting to some degree. I just tell myself "it could be worse - it could be life threatening". Hang in there. Mess help.
