I don't think I would use those kinds of durgs to fight ,my fibromyalgia pain. I try to use as little as I can and I try hot baths ,exercises, like walking and very light arobics, and i try to watch my weight as much as posible.althrough I am over weight I have lost 30 lbs. in 9months. I depend a lot on my faith and reading spiritual books for guideance. . I have both pain and depression ,with fibro., I use to have panick attacks until I was tol how to help myself with that now I have been feel of those for 1 year. That is the way I deal with fibro and being on the board for my support also has gave me a new strength in fighting this big monster. Lois427

when i was a caregiver one of my ladies i took to the Dr. to see about the use of Pot to help her. She has MS, Her Dr. told her it would not be a good idea for her, Reason given was, she already had poor balance and she may fall easier with the effects of the Drug.

I have 2 family member here in Oregon who are using it for Pain. The may be pain free at times but they are very into the high part and stay that way.

As for me NO WAY!!!! Im a recovering addict....12 steps for me...LOL cloud

No I don't think I would use that type of drug for my pain. I use enough drugs now and try to use alternative therapies now instead of too much pain meds.

I have a wonderful guided imagery CD for FM and Chronic Fatigue and when the pain gets too bad I will go and sit down with the CD and I lose myself for a little over an hour and the pain is lessened when I am done. I actually fall asleep for a little bit and it is almost a pleasure to wake up.

I have played it sometimes as much as 2x a day.

No Pot for me.

Hugs, Pat

I really don't have anxiety issues and am very fatigued most of the time. I think that this would just put me to sleep. LOL Maybe that would be a good use for it, to help me sleep.

Otherwise, I wouldn't be adverse to trying it if it was something that my doctor recommended. I just don't think it would help me much.

We've used Marinol for years to treat chemo induced nausea and lack of appetite, especially in young people. I am unaware of how Marinol and Nabilone are different other than this is a new and improved form (ie makes the drug company more money).

Don't think so. I have enough trouble staying focused as it is, I just couldn't add that "high" feeling along with it.

I'm only on Celebrex now, take nothing for anxiety. When I was rinally diagnosed, I educated myself as much as I could and understood more of what was going on. I very rarely have anxiety now, unless I am under undue stress.

As for sleeping, I have a "talk with God" every night and I can usually sleep 6 hours sometimes 8.

Hugs

My heart doc wanted me to try Marijuana for my FM years ago...I told him to write the script and I'd fill it on the way home

I don't have anxiety as an issue for myself, but I seem to bring it out in others...hmmmmm, imagine that??

The ouch levels are handled with a combination of meds and meditation...Plus, that new bed sure is helping too...4 nights in a row with no Ambien needed to get and stay asleep..YAY! And my pain meds have been cut in half (as to frequency)...COOL! Of course, my memory still isn't...isn't ... isn't...what was I saying?

Dunno...does it give you the munchies? If so, probably not...don't need any extra tonnage here

Toodles,

Jim

You know, I would consider it depending on the actual side effects. My FM pain is getting worse and I'm not even 30 yet. I work in a job that drug tests so I cannot smoke pot (plus I have asthma so can't anyway), plus, you know, it's illegal. Most dr.'s wouldn't consider me for drugs I see advertised on tv b/c I'm in child bearing years and they flat out say they are not for "women who may *become pregnant." Plus I don't want to ruin my internal organs taking new drugs with scary side effects. I'm allergic to tons of things including Advil & Asprin so I'm stuck w/ Tylenol which doesn't do much. If I could take this before bed and have it last most of the day (morning is always the worst) I'd be all for it. I used to only have bad pain when I did repeated activities, sewing, long active days, etc. But I woke up yesterday after a restless night in so much pain and could hardly hold my mug of tea by the handle. I'm too young to be feeling like an old lady, sign me up for a trial of this pill!

I may try it - especially where I have anxiety issues to begin with. I'd have to see. Especially with my Medication Management Contract, not sure if that would be an option or if my Pain Center would consider it either.

No way I have enough trouble with not be able to function well and getting confused with the fibrofog. You add pot into the mix and I for sure will not be able to function.Maybe the advil and aspirin doesn't help much but I am willing to try acupunture first. I am looking to be able to function better in my everyday life and I think Pot would not help much. We all want to be lo pain but I think we would like to actually know that we are pain free and not lost in a thicker cloud than we already have without drugs.

I've watched too many lives ruined from the overuse and abuse of pot or starting with pot for me to try it. I've spent 25 years helping the families and friends of addicts. So I think it would take an awful lot to convince me to take a shot at it.

I am sure it has its place and I will never say never. Some days we will do just about anything to be rid of the pain. Most days I would rather stretch, put heat all over, take a muscle relaxer, sleeping aid and pray.

Great post Caprice. I thought most people would go for it shows you how much I know.

Okay everyone, hold on to your hats! I'm not a bad person by no means but, I have to admit that it does help alot! I've used it just for that purpose but not by pill form.

Okay, now you have it, that's why I have fog!

No, but on a serious note; it's great for pain, I dont take pills other than Tylenol. Hope you dont think less of me.....Luv All!

YES, YES, YES I have always believed in using legalizing Marijuana for medical use. A family friend was terminally ill and given Nabilone to help reduce pain and increase appetite. It helped her greatly and I would use it if ever given the chance.
