Does any one here have issues with food triggering your pain?
I know that these 2 things are some of the best.....a good doctor and family support....and yes...I think just about anything can trigger FM....knowing our limits and pacing are about as important....
I have learned with time.....and it took me a long time before I was able to put them together to know.....and there are still some days....that I have no idea what I did to upset the FM...
I think a lot of mine comes from stress....and it is hard to limit some types of stress...so I have to learn how to deal with this the best that I can...
I would encourage you to ask your doctor to check your Vitamin D level....which is so very important for a lot of people....as low Vitamin D can cause pain within itself...this is a simple blood test...but you MUST ASK the doctor to check it....as it is not one of the common things included in the bloodwork that is done....
I have learned how to "control my FM pain" by taking vitamins and supplements....and doing other things to cope with it...
I take magnesium and malate combination supplement (found at vitamin stores) Omegas, Super B Complex, Vitamin D, and Calcium, plus others....as I do have multiple health issues...
What helps one may or may not work for someone else....and it does take time to work....most anything that you try will take at least 6-8 weeks before you can "feel" a difference....
There are all sorts of good info under Tips and Resources to the right of this page....be sure and read member toolbox and nutrition and vitamins....I am sure that you will find some things that perhaps you have not thought of to try....
I hope you will post often, ask questions, make comments or suggestions.....
Take care and good luck...
MiMi
Yes my husband is great, my children which are grown and I have grandbabies don't seem to somewhat understand but my husband explains what he can when they ask.
A well balanced, healthy diet with lots of fruits and veggies, whole grains, low fat dairy and lean protein is good for everyone.
Some of the most common items recommended to avoid are artificial sweeteners and simple sugers. You could try keeping a food diary and tracking your symptoms to see if you find any coorelation between the two.
Learning how to pace, pace and pace even more is also a must for me....it took me a long time to figure out what I can do and just how much my body will stand...
Drinking lots of water and also watching what I eat also helps...along with using the heating pad as needed...and stopain spray...(found at walmart and this is good stuff)...as needed..
We are all different and what helps one may or may not help someone else....it does take a trial and error process on whatever you decide to try....we should at least allow enough time though to figure out if something is working - at least 6-8 weeks - unless, of course, what we are doing is making things worse...(which can also happen)
I hope you will post more often...
Congratulations on the new grandbaby....I am sure you are quite proud....I know that I truly love mine...I have 3 but only get to see my 2 little boys...who are 2 1/2 and 5...they are the apples of my eye....
Take care.
