Do any of u dread washing your hair? I do because my scalp is very very sore and it hurts washing my hair and the worse of it all is combing it out and using a hair dryer. I'm curious to know if any of you have this problem or is it just me.

Soft hug to all of my family here and hoping your having a good day.

Hey Donna - I hate to brush my hair! I thought it was just because I'm very tender headed! So do you think this is another little gift we have been given? : )

Soft hugs to you too!

Hi Donna,
You are not alone. I too, dread when it's time to wash my hair. My scalp is sensitive too & it hurts the arms & shoulders so much that I have to just take my time with it & keep resting my arms. I can no longer wash it at night because I am just to tired & just want to relax after Ive showered, not put in another hour & a half of work drying my hair. My hair is very long & just a pain in the butt but really not much easier when kept shorter anyway. Ive even stopped using hairspray & styling products so I can get away with not washing it for 5 days. I keep threatening to shave it all off one of these days!
Take Care,
Denise

That is what I am wondering. Is it part of fibro?

Well, I too tried the shorter layered look, way to much for me

so I wear it a little long, I don't have the strenght to fix hair.

I love washing my hair but my arms don't want to go up sometimes. I'm dealing with a pinched nerve in my left shoulder, it may or may not be fibro related. I recently had about 8" of crummy, dry hair cut off; I had over-highlighted it and it's good to be gone. It's collarbone-length now, and much easier to deal with.

IMHO, I think all the pains we have are fibro-related.

Hi Donna.....MiMi in NC....I think this is part of FM....I have noticed that my head also is very sore and tender to touch...

Some days (like yesterday and today) I have a spot about the size of a half dollar....on the left lower side of my head which is giving me fits....it is beating like it has a heart of its own...and it really hurts...I have this for a couple of days a month...around the time of when I would have my period...(although I have had a hysterectomy years ago)...so I know this has something to so with hormones....

Take care and I hope you have a good day also...stay cool, if you can....

I suffer from this as well, I brought it up to my Fibro Specialist and he explained that there are nerves that run through our scalp and they become inflamed and hurt. He gave me trigger point injections on all the spots I felt that hurt and they have not hurt again.
