I wanted to see if any others have had a hard time or had to resort to having their Pharmicist make their Voltarin Gel because the Votairin Manufacturer has gone out of business????? Currently my pharmicst is making the Voltarin Gel for me but it is 58.00 on Blue Cross insurance it used to only be 19.75 for 2 tubes when my pharmacist was able to get it thru the manufacturer and then I used my insurance.
Thank you,
Lisa

Hi Lisa,

Upon looking it up , it appears there was a temporary shortage earlier in the spring but that all should be fine now. I can find no information saying the manufacturer has gone out of business.

So I hope your pharmacist is able to get it in again soon.

Caprice,
I want to say "Thank You" so much for sharing this with me! I went thru all the trouble of having my doctor change my scrip so my pharmicist can make the Voltarin but if the Voltarin Company is back to making the product I am sooooooo HAPPY and that will make my wallet happy also! I will let my Dr. know the next time I go to him. Again thanx for the update!
Sincerely,
Lisa a Fibro & Chronic Pain Sufferer in TX.

They may be making Voltaren again, but they are still on back order according to my pharmacy, here in WI. I just tried to fill a prescription last Thursday. They have no idea when it will be available. This makes me very upset as I use the product alot. I hope this helps.

Dearest An_244127:)
Thank you for replying to Caprice's and my replies! Like I was saying I had to spend 58.00 to have my pharmicist compound the Voltarin for me and it was a BIG hassle to have my Dr. write out the script but thank God he did. Actually I have found the strength on the one my Pharmicist has made for me is much better and stronger and I have gotten a better relief from it PLUS I get to BIG bottles rather than 2 tubes. My concern is that I was only paying 19.87 for the 2 tubes but now that my pharmicist has to make the compound of Voltarin it it 58.00 BUT it has lasted me ALOT longer and I am like you I do use ALOT!!! I heard about Voltarin here in this area and then I told my doc about it and at first he was not that keen on it but I really pushed him on it that I wanted it AND thank God I did! It hhelps my fibro, neuro pain in my left leg, ankle & foot and I don't know what I'd do without it every nite! Maybe you can ask your Pharmicist if he or she can make a Voltarin Compound for you until the Voltarin company can get their stuff together!
Hugs,
Lisa in TX

Caprice,
I wanted to let you know that after reading your email I was very excited as I stated in an earlier reply but I also went ahead and called my Pharmicist who has been a Pharmicist in El Paso, Texas for over 40 years and I have been going to him for over 20 years. He stated again that the Voltarin Manufacturer was going out of business and that was why they could not meet demand. The only reason I state this is I know there are alot of folks who purchase Voltarin. I in fact found out about voltarin by coming to this area of the web and I am truly grateful for the knowledge.
May your days be pain free,
Lisa

Thank you so much for your information about the Voltaren. I think I will ask my doctor about having it made for me as I have another company that already makes me a compound cream for my feet (neuropathic pain), so maybe they can make the Voltaren for me too. It is so hard to find something that helps and now I hate to lose it. Take care.

Hello An_244127
I am glad that any info I passed on may have helped you or any one else. I wanted to ask you what creme do you have made for your neuropathic pain in your feet? I use the Voltarin because I have severe burning, tingling, tightness, etc. in my left ankle and foot (plus sometimes I use it on the right ankle & foot also). In addition to Fibro I have suffered from Chronic Back Pain for 20 years that goes down both legs and I have found that the Voltarin helps at night along with my meds.
Take care,
Lisa

Hello Lisa, the compound creme I have made is made up of 5 different meds together, I think it has 2 muscle relaxers, a nerve med, a pain med and some of the voltaren ingr. in it. My pain doc had a company in GA make it for me because my feet were giving me such a problem and every other topical we tried didn't do much. This one works very well on my feet, but I still prefer the Voltaren for my other areas, because I also have back problems and hip dysfunction and the voltaren really works well on those areas. I hear you on the leg pain! Wishing you less pain, take care.
