Hi all on this Memorial Day. I am reading lots of posts as I am needing some support for a very tough day of fatigue, and some sadness as a result. We are also having another bad air day up here in NE OH. I also have asthma, so I only went outside for a short time. It is really hot. Had an invite to my daughters for a cook out, but we all decided it would not be a very good idea due to the weather.
Reading how others struggle, knowing I am not alone in this is needed even after more than 25 years of chronic fatigue and fibro. The past couple of months I have been in a lot of flare. No particular reason. I personally do feel better when it is cooler, and clear. For me personally, I have some summer SADD, so this is also my difficult time with too much light and heat.
yesterday was my 69th birthday and I did go out to get my nails done with my daughter and her 2 girls. We also had lunch out and this was a nice treat for all of us. One of my granddaughters had a birthday the day before mine, and became 13, so a lot of fun doing a little shopping also.
Taking one day at a time, or an hour, or even less, seems to help me the most. Doing what I can out in the world also takes my mind off myself and the pain and fatigue. They understand my limits pretty well. I take elevators down, they use the escalators. We meet where we are going! Part of my flare is getting dizzy if things go by too fast, etc. Thanks all who share here, and for listening. Mary

It has been very hot & humid here in SE Indiana too:( I thought I would be able to handle the heat better than the cold...but it kicked my butt this week. I am learning to take each day and hour by hour. I can feel good then a few hours later feel like a truck hit me. Thanks for sharing Mary!

Yes, I know what you mean, I feel terrible the temperature in UK has been high. I have had to stay indoors as much as possible, if I go out the little energy I have is just zapped away in minutes. All I want to do is sleep but its to hot for that as well,, plus I just can not get comfortable.

One day at a time is the best way to do it, I had a good day last sunday an managed to sit under a gazebo for a little while and watch family playin in the paddling pool.

Yes, thanks to all for sharing too.

Mary...

Happy Birthday! Sounds like you made the best of it!

It is so important that we learn what the triggers are for ourselves, what is a real no-no in life now and what is the remedy if you screw up.

Sounds like you know you! "Applause!" That is half the battle, asking your body over and over again to do something it no longer can....(during the time you don't know this, or that you are in denial of it) B I G, for the future.

I always say I get low when the "spirit is so willing and the flesh is weak" I get low in the frustration of a limited life. I try not to limit it too much, but I know me.....

So much can be helped with distraction, doing a project, get involved with others...travel (slow). Be inventful to get OUT and get up. Giving the disease 2 days to reset itself with my body and spirit and then moving on.

It is tough, getting up 90 y/o each morning and trying to find the younger woman in there. She peeks out, you can find her.

Seeing colors....hearing good stimulating music and even a good organised room or space under the cabinet can bring you to a success for the day. I remember opening the linen closet to keep looking at my rows...(not like that now) but when I did such a project. All the washcloths folded just right. It gave me success that it looked real nice!

I am not neat and orderly, but if I need to lift me up...that is what I do. Dig in and get rid of the clutter....organization breeds a peaceful sense to oneself. IT FEELS GOOD.

Well, I hope the day is cooler and a surprise comes your way, something you are not expecting.........Happy Birthday again!, Nancy B
