Hi,

Does anyone from the UK use this splendid discussion area. I'm from Epsom, Surrey, South East England and would love to a)know and b) converse.

I find this are really helpful and I can learn a lot from those of you who have had FMS for years, I only got diagnosed last year but I would say I have had it for 10 or more years. I also have other conditions so have to manage each individually and along side one another.

Its hot here today, and the bottom half of my body does not want to do anything plus in a lot of pain, so just want to disappear somewhere to get away from it all.

Best wishes to all, hope you are surviving the heat.

Hi Kaz and welcome here,

I'm not from the UK but am in the Commonwealth (in Canada); does that count? (I know it doesn't.)

Either way, whether any who are currently here are from the UK, you are very welcome here and hope you'll keep talking. It IS good to talk with others who share the same condition.

Hi Jilly,

Good to meet you, where abouts are you in the south East?

How have you found our recent sunny weather, did it make you feel better/worse. I found that on the really hot days that I could not do much it drained what little energy I had.

Cooler this morning was more comfortable.

Hi Kaz,
East Sussex, on the coast

I was glad it was cooler today. I spend the morning at the Hospital attending the pain Management Foundation course. Posh title but the explained about pain and learn to to shut the 'pain gates', pacing and stuff. I have been assessed to go on the 10 session course which I think will be helpful.

Like you I have been diagnosed a short time but have had the problem for about 7 or 8 years , again on top of other things.

This is a great site. I haven't found anything our side of the 'duck pond' to match it although the UK society is fairly good.

Jilly
