Morning FMily....MiMi in NC...and the sun is shining again...it is going to be a nice day...but not too hot....it is nice outside....
I woke up at a decent hour this morning...got more sleep than I normally do but I am still tired...the chronic fatigue will never let up...and I find myself having to push myself to do anything...

I am still dealing with the low back pain...but it is not as intense as it has been...my next appt will not be until the end of the month....it has now already been a month since it started...no one ever gets in any hurry to do anything...

I hope each of you had a good week...and I hope that we will all have a good week-end...I hope you will be able to soak in some sunshine and get some of the natural Vitamin D....that is so good for most of us...

Welcome to the new members who have joined our unique FM support group recently....sorry that you are having to deal with the wrath of the dragon, aka FM...but I am sure that soon each of you will find the right combination of *tools and tips* that will help you cope better...we all experience a vicious cycle trying to cope with FM...never knowing how we might feel at any given time...it is hard to plan things and to be able to do what we want to do in life....learning how to pace, pace and pace even more is good for us FMers...drinking plenty of water is also good....watching what we eat and doing gentle stretches / exercises each day is also a good thing...(gentle being the key word here)...this does take a trial and error process to figure it out though...so hang in there...

Vitamin D is something that I find myself having to include in most of the posts that I create...I am sure some of you are sick and tired of reading about it...but I want to make sure that I am reaching any new FMers who happen to read these posts....as I do think this is one of the most important things that a person can do...and it is such a cheap fix, if your level is low...

That's my story and I'm sticking to it..

Have a good day...

Hey Mimi,

It is RAINING again.....everyday! The workers just came to leave again as they can't help me with the water issues! Ughhhh .

Today is Olivia's BD party in a field and playground area.. not working well there either! I will go, being in the covered area in the rain and dampness I think is not a good idea, but I have the balloons, coolers, ice, food and you can imagine. I have to go.

I feel so bad that EVERYDAY it rains! Unusual weather for us.

So glad to feel more like me again, mind is UP and OUT...good stuff for sure. Have the eye doctor this friday coming and I am off all this week to prepare for the BIG party at my house this weekend (watch it rain and I have to move it to my SIL's after all the work! ) Even the pool is too cold from all the rain to have the kids enjoy it!

Just sad stuff......I have other things to entertain the crowd, but it is alot of celebration to do. 80th, 75, 58, 3, 1 and 32 as well as 3 college graduates (one on his 3rd masters.) SO alot to cover on a few cakes!!

Anyway. Please try a massage again on those back muscles, ya never know if it will break this for you and you said it felt SO good the last time.

Good luck, Well I hope for the Fmily the sun is in your neck of the woods, as it aint here! . Good for the garden that is the bright side!..Good day to all, Nancy B

OMG.....rain is going to ruin things for the birthday party....I am so sad....perhaps it will just stop for a while....at least until the party starts and ends....being out in the damp is not good either....for children or you as well...but like you said....you gotta do what you gotta do regardless...sometimes, mother nature does not do what we expect...at least it is not a *garden wedding*....

I am so glad that you feel better now....I sure hope that this is the only sickness that you will have to deal with this year...

So when will your son's wedding be? I am sure you are excited about this also....I am glad that I do not have any other weddings to prepare for....IF my older son decides to marry again...well...they can just elope...
That is what we did 41 years ago....I have been married a very longggggg time...and each of my children had a nice wedding...the next one will be many many years down the road....Gretchen will be 8 in July....and since she is the oldest....well...I hope none of the grandchildren get married before their 20's....of course, I know this is not up to me to decide...

I hope things go well today for you....and I hope you have a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY....I know Olivia will...she will be the *life and light* of the party, I am sure...OMG...little ones grow up so fast....

Take care and good luck...

Good morning gals,
I am in good spirits this morning until about 15 minutes ago. I decided to clean the litter box, simple task, but as soon as I stood up the last time, POW, lower back went out. My back and I have had issuies for many years, I am 6' tall and 155 lbs, and in decent shape, so I tend to do more than my frame can handle sometimes, too muck leverage on my joints. I was all set to take a long walk, maybee later after stretching. I hope to get an MRI someday to see what is realy going on in there. X-rays just show shrinkage in the spacing between my vertebre. Yuck, had to happen on a weekend when I can't see a Dr. withought an ER bill. I tried one round of stretches and it is worse so I am back on the couch.

It is supposed to be 86 here today. I like a few blocks from the lake so I am betting that it will be 86 over the hill from the lake and 65 here. It all depends on the wind. It is very humid. I tollerate the warmth much better than the cold!

I have one of my nieces here for the weekend. Her and my boys get along very well. She is 10 and my boys, 8 and 11. They wore themselves out yesterday and slept for 12 hrs!

I hope no matter what hurts we can all make the best of the day. Enjoy the little things. For me it's the smiling little faces around me today. Take care everyone.

Hello Cory....I am so sorry that you messed up your back....I hate any kind of extra pain....I have been dealing with mine now for several weeks...there are times when my pain takes my breath away....not a good thing for the mind or the body...

If you go out perhaps you can pick up some Stopain Spray...as this is really good stuff...walmart has it for around $8....and it is well worth it...

I hope you will enjoy your week-end....try not to over do...perhaps try using a heating pad....

Take care.

Good morning

I'm just on for a minute. My older son turned 15 this morning, so we'll be busy doing birthday stuff today. I'm about to eat a quick breakfast so I can straighten up the house and get his cake in the oven. Earlier this week I was having a hard time with him turning 15, but I'm ok now. I think it was more from comparing his life now to what my life was like at his age. At 15 I had been through quite a bit more than he has, and I was only two years away from being pregnant with him. Thank goodness he knows he's not ready for any of that! I may have made my mother a grandmother at 36 and she may have done the same thing to her mother, but it's one 'family tradition' I'll be happy to break!

Gotta get moving! Hope you all have a great weekend

~air hugs~

Good afternoon! Happy Saturday!

Sunny and dry here - but it's going to get hot and humid tomorrow. I can manage 90 degrees - but throw in some humidity and I just want to stay inside my air-conditioned house!

Not much planned today - which is fine with me. Doing some things around the house and watching some golf on TV. Later I need to head over to Kohl's to spend my Kohl's cash and use my 30% off coupon. I could use some new shorts.

The village I live in issued a "Boil Order" yesterday. It is a precautionary watch until they get more water test results. Hmmm? Makes me wonder what might have gotten into our water???

Mimi, glad you got some good sleep last night and that your back is feeling a little better!

NancyB, rain, rain, go away! I'm sorry the rain is making you feel bad and raining on the bday party! I hope the rain stops soon!

Cory, so sorry about your back! Hopefully, it will be feeling better soon!

Jessi, have fun celebrating your son's bday!

Time to get some laundry started.

Wishing everyone a great Sat with little or no pain - and good sleep tonight!

Hi Mimi!
I spent THE ENTIRE DAY out on our deck yesterday. It felt so good to be out that I didn't want to come in at all. I sat in my chair in my shady spot and journaled, crocheted and ate. It makes things so much easier when I can be out in the fresh air. It was sunny and breezy and the feeder was full of birds, and I sat there soaking it all in. It was a really good day.

Today is a bit more challenging. It's been on and off rainy all day, and my ankle, etc. has been hollering. I had such an issue with swelling and nerve pain that I had to take half a Percocet to settle it down. I dislike having to take pain meds during the day, especially since I haven't done it for a while. But today was really bad. I will be very glad when I don't have issues with swelling any more! It makes the nerve pain/numbness a lot worse.

Still, it was a good day. Mom is cleaning out her garage, and she brought me ALL the yarn that was stored there. It amounted to FIVE plastic storage bins, omg. It felt like Christmas seeing all that come into the house. I spent the entire afternoon organizing it while Husband shook his head and grumbled at the mess. Some of it isn't what I normally use color-wise, but at least it's the same brand. Now I can get some projects done! I was really scraping the bottom of the barrel, so to speak, and I wasn't sure when I'd be able to go out and buy more yarn. I had projects started that I couldn't finish, and now I can work on some of them. I will be doing that tonight, and I'm looking forward to that.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. I have to go put my leg up now.

Hi
Popping in a little late. Spent most of the day in bed. VERY HOT and uncomfortable here in Chi-town. Have the air on but not to cool or that screws with me just as bad as the heat and the humidity. Having Fibro STINKS!!
Got up for a bite to eat and to quick make cole slaw and onion dip. Cheating big time with prepackaged slaw mix and dressing.
Promised I'd make it for my nieces graduation party.
Hope to feel better for it tomorrow.

I'm wishing everyone's day went well, and all the celebrations went fine.
Happy night to all. Here's hoping we all get good rest and feel fine in the morning.

Hi all...I know this is really late for a Saturday post. But I have been baby sitting my GS and he takes up my whole day with busyness. LOL.

It was a picture perfect day here.. 86, clear skies and a nice cooling breeze. A great late spring or early summer day. Spent some time in the back yard with the little one and watched him play with the dog. It was just so nice to sit out side and enjoy the weather and watch the little one enjoying himself.

I'm still not feeling all that well. The cold is easing up and I have my voice back but the stomach issues side and back pain are still plaguing me. I have just been struggling to get a healthy footing and so far I haven't been able to. : ( DH got off work early today to help with the little one, he is a handful at his age, and to also spend some time with GS and me.

We ran some errands and of course the little one wanted sweets and toys in every store we went into, even Hobby Lobby . It was really a chore to say NO when the little one is used to getting pretty much what he wants 24-7. And of course when we said NO.. and in the nicest way.. there was a melt down/ tantrum in front of people and DH and I looked like mean people saying NO to such a cute kid..who is having a fit nonetheless.

His parents are coming home tomorrow late afternoon, thank goodness, and from the emails I have been getting she's loving every minute of her time @ her resort and may not want to come back from Cancun. MX. She's at one of those 5 star places, membership kind of thing. Pricey @ first but over the years it becomes a bargain and she's only out airfare. She went twice last Fall and now this month.

I finally did put my foot down and told her I'm done and next time take the little ones. It's hard on me and not fair really to be put in the place to force little ones to do this or that my way when their used to doing it their mom's way. So my baby sitting days are pretty much over for these vacations away from the little ones.

A few years ago she went to Hawaii for 12 days and the little ones nearly had a mental melt down by the time the mom and dad got back. I was a wreck and because the baby, 12 months old and 25 pounds, wouldn't help me lift him out of the play pen I blew my left elbow and a week after they got home from Hawaii I was in surgery getting the elbow repaired. And I had a 3 month rehab before I could use the arm correctly. UGH. So now she is cutting her vacation time away in half.. but for 4 and 5 year olds 6 days without mom and dad even that little time without their parents is hard.

Okay am off line here time to put the little one in the bath tub. I will post more tomorrow.
Gentle hugs to all.
Linda R.
