Hi Mimi!
We are having heavy thunderstorms this afternoon and tonight, and we are under our fourth flood watch in less than two weeks, omg. What is going on with the weather this year?? It's been more like the tropics lately, especially with the humidity. Today the temperature is the same inside and out, and there is no air moving anywhere. My body really hates this weather!
Yesterday was SO busy---first thing in the morning I had my interview for temporary disability. I answered questions nonstop for almost 40 minutes..Then I took Husband to lunch for our anniversary (our 4th as a married couple). After that we had to go shopping for one DIL and our middle GC, who, at 11, has just had knee surgery. Then we dropped off the DIL's gift and visited with the GD for several hours. We stopped at the market on the way home because Husband was too tired to cook. It was the most walking I'd done since I got hurt and I was worn out.
Today my entire body hurts and I'm really dragging...I got very little sleep even though I was so tired. The humidity made things very uncomfortable, and Husband was restless because he slept without his CPAP mask (he thought it was broken). He was kicking, twitching, tossing and turning for the entire night, and every time he shifted position he would bump into me and wake me up. So it was a hard night for both of us.
Today Husband is off at SIL's garage, getting my van fixed. A caliper went bad, and it wrecked the brake and the rotor---you could hear the screeching 100 yards away. The brake pad also caught fire and melted, and all that was left was the metal. SIL:, bless him, said not to worry about the money, thank God...He knows we are really struggling right now.
I was out on the deck this morning for a while. Now I'm in because the storms have rolled in, and they are impressive. We have one coming in now, so I'll have to get offline soon...Our last one dumped tons of rain, and there was one frighteningly close lightning strike that hit a tree just 30 feet from the house. The crack was both blinding and deafening, and I could actually smell the ozone. The poor terrified cat ran and hid somewhere, and I haven't seen her since. She really hates loud storms now that she's gotten older. I confess it scared me too...it sounded like an explosion, and it was so sudden I jumped.
It's so quiet here with Husband out...I think I'm going to go curl up on the bed in front of the fan, do some crocheting, and maybe take a little nap. The heavy rain is starting again, and I'm having trouble keeping my eyes open. Hope everyone's having a good Friday!
