Hi. Sorry if I miss-spell anything but the brain don't seem to work right with the pain and meds.
Since I was diagnost with the FM, I have gotten a few other deseases, like nerofibromas, mini strokes, and cysticfibroses and was wondering if anyone else is having the same problem. I have grown immune or alergic to the meds, And live in 24/7 pain. But I also have degenerative disc desease. Which I was told brought on the FM.
I live in pain because my insurance either don't pay for new meds or gives me and doctor a hard time about getting it. And I know other people are having the same problem.
But is there anyone else getting other illnesses and are they brought on by the fibro.

Lots of older meds are worth trying. I personally won't use newer meds until they have been widely prescribed for at least five years. That seems to be when side effects magically turn up and many drugs have been recalled shortly after being used widely.

I take gabapentin, zolpidem, and opioids daily, all generic. I do use occasional Lidoderm patches, which were not yet available in generic when I got them. They may be now.

Take care, Annette

Hi Theresa,

Cystic Fibrosis is a genetic disorder and usually diagnosed in early childhood. Neurofibromatisos is the "Elephant Man's" disease. That is also genetic.

Do you think that you have Cystic Fibrosis because of the fibromyalgia?

I think that most people with fibro seem to have weakened immune systems, but you can't catch a genetic disease.
