So annoyed with my manager vent

So I have my first appointment scheduled and requested the time off at work. Someone is on Vacation that day but I didn't think it would be a big deal because our assistant mgr is gone all the time because of pancreatitis and when she is her she leaves when she wants for appts no matter if someone else is off. So my manager denied my request because he is on vacation so I went to talk to him about it and told him it was unfair because other mgr is gone all the time. Then he said well when someone's illness is that catastrophic they need the time. So I said oh so her illness means more than mine? And got up and walked out I was so mad. Unbelievable. Now I have to reschedule.

It couldn't hurt to remind your manager of the FMLA act. I believe medical leave should supercede a vacation...read up on it so you can point out valid points to the manager.
