It was a quiet week-end for me...only my younger son and his son was here for lunch...my daughter dropped by to pick up lunch for them since Alec had a temp again...He has been sick and she thought he was better but then woke up with another fever...I hope it is nothing serious...children can get sick so easily and so fast...
Harley is here for a few days...she is really a very good dog...minds well, for the most part...now and then she will test me on who is boss...it is funny when she tries to *talk* to me and I can not understand what she needs...she is definitely different from my little furbabies...she likes to sleep...and I let her tell me when she is ready to get up...she is use to being woke up very early in the morning...
Welcome to the new members who have joined our unique FM support group...I am sure that soon each of you will find something that will help you cope better...it does take time and effort so hang in there...we, FMers, must keep on keeping on...until we figure out exactly the right combination of *tools and tips* that works for us...
My combination is vitamins and supplements as well as other things...a good heating pad does *wonders* for me...and Stopain Spray is hard to beat...when I have pain which refuses to let up...I use this and it helps me for a while...we all need a break from pain...
Vitamin D...be sure and have your doctor check your Vitamin D level which is so very important...low Vitamin D can cause some people to have additional pain...and this can also affect other illnesses as well...
Here is hoping that everyone had a good week-end and I hope today you will have a good Monday, with little to no pain...
That's all....

My personal exchanges are Vitamin D and Pain and Wrath of the Dragon....if you care to visit..
Very low place I am in right now....this new struggle is just really tipping my spirit. When you can't see well...it is a distraction to the day.
I am in high pain from decorating, the stress of the guests to come and menu is on me and my house is still all cluttered...
I have shots today and will try and reset something in this mess. But when the spirit is not with you........it is hard.
Do you see again this is a disease that IS NOT SEEN...my eye looks great! I laugh at the wrinkle on the retina when my Sis has wrinkles all over her face (I have none) BUT ON THE INSIDE ...I am 90 , she is on the outside!
I liked the idea that "glad 2Bhere" said about patching it at times....that just might help it rest and give me a break with the cob webs. I will check with the specialist to see if that is OK.
If time is what I need to be a bit better...then time is what I need......
. Did you ever notice I don't have alot of patience (not patients*) when it comes to annoyances !Crap. Well I hope things are going well in yur necks of the woods and the shopping near done for all of you. That that great surprise gift was found and you are joyously waiting to present it. I send you all gentle hugs for this Monday....the start of a new week.......a renew to get done whatever you need to do.
Have a good/better one today...nancy B
It's a gray, wet, drizzly day; but it's supposed to get into the 50s this afternoon. Then it will turn colder overnight, with a lot of heavy rain. The weather is really strange for this time of year! I'm not complaining, though---I prefer it to the real cold we usually get.
I am going to the PT place this morning. My insurance is refusing to pay for any more sessions, but Frank, my PT guy, says I can come in and use the place like it's a gym. He has done this with other patients too. It is $50 a month as opposed to the $90 a week we'd been paying out, plus I can go as many times as I want to. That will be easier on the budget.
I'd stopped in Saturday to give him a plate of cookies, and he scolded me for not coming in during the week. When I told him we were waiting to get the money for the first month, he said, "Don't worry about the money---just come." He's been flexible with us that way and it's really nice. My Ortho refuses to see me unless I can pay when I come in, so I haven't seen him since September. I'm not in any hurry to go back, lol.
We are in a financially tight time, as is often the case. Husband's big check doesn't come until the 19th, and we need the money now. We've been running out of food and the bills are coming due; plus there's the Xmas shopping. Husband and I have decided not to do Xmas for ourselves, because by the time we finish with family and grandkids there won't be anything left for us anyway. So this Xmas will be a quiet one. I keep telling him I don't need gifts as long as I have him. He is better than any present he could get.
I need to make breakfast and head to the PT place...Then I have to get some ornament hooks. We bought a set of ornaments back in January when they were on sale; and I realized this morning they don't have any hooks. They are a bit hard to hang without them, lol.
Husband and I will be decorating the tree between his bus runs. (We started last night, but we both ran out of energy.) Then tonight we have a meeting at church, which means an early dinner. So I need to get this day moving.
Nancy and Linda---I hope you both feel better today. It's no fun feeling yucky, especially around the holidays. I'm sending big ((((HUGS)))) to both of you. Hope everyone has a good day!

Sending good health vibes to all! No fun having added illnesses and issues on top of FM!
I had a productive weekend - and I didn't overdo it! Yay, me! I constantly have to remind myself that everything can't be done at once. I made some good progress on gift shopping - but there is still more to do. I didn't get to addressing the Christmas cards yet. Maybe I'll work on that a bit this evening. I finished the crocheted baby blanket. Still have some ornaments to crochet. Each year I make an a ornament for co-workers, friends and family. Got a bit of a late start this year - but fortunately there is still time! I have finished what I need right now. One for my hair stylist - who I see tomorrow night. And one for my massage therapist who I will see Thursday evening.
Don't want to jinx it - but I feel that my current flare seems to be fading a bit. Hoping for some good sleep one of these nights.
Wishing everyone a good Monday with little or no pain - and good sleep tonight!
First a few snarky comments: Don't use your flashlight to wake me at midnight to check my vitals. Don't hold a staff meeting outside my door at 2am to discuss the patients who you just spent two hours moving around the floor. And Don't think I can't understand you while you chatter to each other in French. I'm glad to home to get the rest!!
Thank you. It's cold and rainy here, but we might meet or break the record high of 64?.
I didn't say in my prior long missive what happened in the ER before they admitted me. The ER doc (he had really bad hair plugs!) looked over my chart and said, "Oh, you have hemochromatosis? And you think you have FM?" I told him I was seeing a great rheumy and my treatment was being managed well, but he cut me off. "FM is a fake illness, and you'll find that the symptoms are actually the HC." My mouth fell open, DH shot him a look, and I said, "well, I trust my docs and will continue following their instructions." GEEZ!
Gotta, I'm delivering my annual donation fo 50 pairs of mittens to a local children's charity. Have the best day you can possibly have!
Lou
It is odd that there are still doctors who are NOT up to par on FM...I guess the doctor also thinks that millions of people who just happened to suffer from *it* all have other issues too...perhaps some do...doctors are like attorneys...there are good ones and there are bad ones...(although I have not found a good attorney yet)
I have learned in the past few years that there are people in positions who really do not belong there...I think this is probably the reason that so much happens with some things...
I am sure that the children's charity is very thankful for the mittens that you made...what a wonderful way to *share at Christmas time*...and providing something that the children will be sure to use as wintertime merges...
May GOD comfort as you recover and bless you for
what you do for others.

My hospital stay in April was only four days and that was more than enough. There was a sundowner in the room next to mine and he would talk all night and yell for people that weren't there. Then his roommate and some of the other people on the floor would yell at him to shut up. I did a lot of sleeping once I got home!

It's a pretty well established problem these days and even the SSD people have a description for FM.
I'm glad you're confident in yourself and your own doctors, plus had the support of your husband. I think I'd laugh out loud if I heard a comment like that!
I wrote a long post a few hours ago and for whatever reason it went into the webmd Black Hole
I hate that! And since I already wrote a long post I used up my time on the computer before my dental appointment. So I have to head out the door in a few minutes. But wanted to say Hi to everyone and wish them a good day before I left.
It's gray, raining and dreary here. Our warm temps have left us with this. :-_ It will be 26 tonight so I'm guessing the 2" of rain we've gotten the past day and a half will make the lawns, plants and Christmas ornaments that are out glisten with a coating of ice in the a.m. Should be pretty I guess, but I want my warm spring and summer temps back. I was in sandals and light clothing this past weekend.. so September.. I miss it! I'm not ready for coats, scarfs, gloves and warm clothes yet.
Yikes it's time to go. I will close this here and write a new post when I get back in.
Gentle hugs to all, Linda R
I can't seem to stay warm. I used to tollerate the cold so well and now it's my nemesis. I have the heat at 70 and a hoodie up over my head. I think it's time to but some warmer gear. It is supposed to get down around zero with a high in the teens tomorrow. I am greatful I don't work outside anymore.
Nancy B, I hope you feel like youself again soon. I understand the spirit thing. Lou, that whole experience sounds terrible. I'm glad your home.
Take care everyone, sleep well.
Cory
I haven't had that happen to me, YET, but an sure there's a Jack a## out there waiting to tell me the same thing.
Feel better and know all of us here are sending love and support your way.
Gentle hugs, Linda R.
