I'm wondering, could you have been bitten by some sort of insect?
Or could it be an allergic reaction to a new food or medication?

Those are the first two things that come to mind.

Hope this calms down soon.

Hello.....MiMi in NC....the first thing which comes to my mind would be.....have you tried anything new....soap, body wash, washing detergent, creams or any new vitamins and/or supplements.....have you eaten something different....think back and explore all options here.....

There must be something that has caused the rash.....but the mystery is what?

It is hard knowing that the dermatologist can not pinpoint what is going on with you.

I will say this....many years ago I went to the zoo...and I wore a sundress the day I went...we entered a bird sanctuary ....and there were vents in the floor....in a day or two I broke out in a rash....went to several different specialists about this and no one could tell me what was going on....it lasted for many weeks....tortured me for a long time...I tried many different kinds of medicines and creams....nothing helped....to this day I still think that I picked up something at the zoo in the enclosed bird house....I will see this that in a couple of months after I was there, this bird area was completely *closed down* due to some sort of *outbreak*....I remember though that even taking a shower hurt me....

Eventually the rash cleared up....it disappeared on its own....I guess it had to just *run its course*....

I know that this does not help you any....and I am sorry that I have no answers for you....I do hope that you can get some relief from this and soon.

You might want to try some oatmeal baths.....which might help.

Take care and good luck.

Hi Lori,
This may be a dumb answer, but I started taking niacin for a while, and the 2nd day I noticed a rash all over and felt kind of a "buzzing" feeling. Found out then that supplements should be discussed with dr first. Also got rash and terrible itch after picking raspberries in neighbor's yard. Won't do that again.
Just a couple of possibilities--
Hope your misery has decreased,
Candy

have you tried homeopathic remedies? homeopathy is good for acute combination of symptoms. if the rash etc. is due to allergies, you may never discover the culprit. i have found knowledgeable staff at most health food stores that sells homeopathic remedies. i keep Apis Meliforis 30x (honey bee) for emergency allergic reactions. Urens Urtica 9x (stinging nettle) for hives. Arnica Montana 30x for bumps and bruses. Also, Arnica gel plain (not combined with anything) for tender spots and arthritis. please talk to a professional before using anything. even though Homeopathy is a complimentary medicine not an alternative medicine. i hope this helps.

I was also thinking a possible Lupus or auto-immune disease. Did anyone test your blood for ANA? It may be time to see a rheumatologist, since the dermatologist and others have no clue.

xperky replied to LORIjc's response:
That sounds serious. I hope the shot kicks in very soon. If not, see a new doc with new ideas! I still think a rheumy might help down the road.

The insurance might have changed at the beginning of the year.

Margaret
