Hello....MiMi in NC...I am also having lower back pain. I have been to several doctors about it and no one can tell me anything at all about what to do. I thought, in the beginning that perhaps it was due to me having kidney stones....and I was checked and yes....I have stones in both kidneys....so I was sent to a kidney specialist....who states he does not think my pain is coming from the stones...So I have been forced to use a heating pain a lot these days, as this is the only relief that I can find to help me....I also use the Stopain Spray right after I shower which also gives me some relief....especially if I am not going to be able to use the heating pad. (or when I have to do other things)

I continue to research FM and have found that a lot of people have back pain as well....there are several FMers here who also deal with back pain. I do think mine if related to the FM and to the kidney stones as well.

There are some days which are better than others...and I can tell there is a lot more when the weather is damp and cool.

Taking a hot shower at night using lavender bath salts does help my body to relax so that I can sleep better. I do cut on my heating pad when I go to sleep. (I have been forced to sleep in a recliner now since 2005-not by choice though).

I hope this helps. Take care and good luck.
