Morning FMily....MiMi in NC and it is going to be a nice day....but showers are expected this early evening with rain expected tomorrow 80% chance and on Tuesday also there is another chance of rain....not as high as Monday though. I know we do need the rain to at least help the pollen which remains....but my body dreads the damp weather.

Here is hoping everyone had a nice week-end so far and I hope today will be a good day for everyone as well, with little to no pain....I hope that each of you can enjoy the sunshine and feel the warm Vitamin D against your body. Not too much of it....but just enough to know that you have soaked up some of it.

DH and I had a nice dinner last night....I got ribs but they were not as good as I had hoped. It is really hard to find good ribs that I truly enjoy. Ruby Tuesday has the best so far.

So many FMers on the board having so many different issues.....prayers and thoughts to those. Being stressed out is not a good thing for us FMers and sometimes it is impossible to control what exactly we put our bodies through. We have to do the best we can with what we have and hope for the best. Here is hoping things do improve with whatever the situation each of you are dealing with.

Welcome to the new members who have joined our FM support group recently....I am sure that soon each of you will find something that will help you cope better. Under *tips* and *resources* you will find some good info....perhaps some things that you have not thought of trying. So check these out and also review the *member toolbox*.

Vitamin D....so important for a lot of people these days....be sure and ask your doctor to check your level. Low Vitamin D can cause some people to have additional pain and it can also affect other illnesses as well.

Enjoy your Sunday and remember to pace, pace and pace even more. (This is now our way of life to survive).

Until next time.

Hi Mimi & All to follow!

Well Mimi you are right so many of us have stressful issues going on-- on top of the chronic illness. which sure doesn't help us feel better.

I just got done posting my own prayer request.

I am happy to see so many folks wander in here and at least have someplace to voice their pain and have someone care. That's a good thing.

I'm gonna make sure to pray for as many of the things folks have mentioned here as I can recall, a lot of them I've got written down in my little notebook-- I have to write everything down!

One nice thing this weekend--it wasn't all awful--Hubby made some changes on how my phone works. He also showed me how to use it to make my grocery list! (I've always felt I'm a waste of a smart phone)

Anyhow I love that I can 'talk' to the phone and it makes a list I don't have to type all those little keys. Yay!

Weather has been good here, humid in the morning yesterday but much better as the day went on.

Next weekend I have company coming for a week, my oldest son's family and toward the end of week my inlaws will join us too.

So this morning I'm going to just enjoy the peace of living here on my little lake, watching the ducks and geese and other birds.

Wish everyone well today!

Good morning Mimi and Fmily,

Happy Belated now...Anniversary! WOW that is true stamina, no matter how great the man....Good stuff Mimi, something to be so proud of. My DH makes it easy most of the time...

Cece and Cory, Bike riding is the best..it really is. Cece you probably didn't have the right bike seat and bike. Go to a store and try out some. I got my BIL a new "beach bike" they call them..I was in Walmart..it is the ole fashion type with fat tires and a nice wide seat, then you can by a GEL cover that makes that softer if you need. Remember to adjust the seat so that the leg length from seat to extended pedal has your knee straight (or almost). And then you are set. I didn't pay much and he is in Heaven..........

Cory I would love to send you my heat. I am equal to my sis in Florida!! 90 yesterday and I went to the relay for life with my older son. I BAKED, had to leave it was too much....I also am trying to open our pool. Wait...I'l go by the door and blow to the west and maybe you'll get some !!

Ok, now to the mess I am in. Hurting bad from trying to open the pool by myself, I put together the filter and it was tough and then to the hardware store for bolts to a huge umbrella I bought ON SALE that came without bolts***(you get what you pay for) it was a 4.00 fix so no biggy....But even with pacing in this heat I can't get the motor running and I feel like no oil to the muscles..

Last night all forced me go sit at my other son's band showing and it was fun for a bit....I just kept under my breath saying "I hate this disease...I hate this disease " so distraction never happened and I cannot clap my hands it is a trigger so you feel like you are rude...even fake is a no no. (crap)

My DIL who is the one pregnant was there and I was SO GLAD to see her. We had texted in the morning and I am trying to help her emotionally to move past this genetic thing....that the docs don't always have it right.

If all of us were put out on paper...what a surprise we would all have seeing how broken our chromasomes have become. What we had a chance of but never developed.
I said I truly feel this is a non issue and being in a positive place and good balance as she is making this little one is so important. She just kept saying I wish I didn't know.

That reminds me of the dilemma of looking into the breast cancer gene. Those that have it have such a high rate of getting into trouble. You must be prepared in what will you do with your information. I wish they had told me of their concerns before they looked...

No amnio still, she is not changing the situation and I am hoping she can just "go back to being pregnant at some point"
I have moved forward and continue to put a positive spin on this, I will hug her and him and we will just wait. I have a little extra love to give a little girl who might need it!!

Bet all is going to be fine. The issue with this is as they age the protiens in their body go awry and it makes them slow-to retarded in function. I mentioned to my DIL that you are a teacher (a teacher of phonics, reading and math.....of small children) WHO better to have as a mom....keep her mainstream and she will be great. The doctors can follow the medical and you the rest of her. . It will be OK, it is what God has given and he doesn't make mistakes...........

OK, my world in a nutshell. Working too hard, frustrated at home and a small kettle on the burner here with the granddaughter to come. Thank you Lord for my meds and my sense of humor I have always had...though it is hard to find it these days.....I am so grateful. Grateful for your presence in my day to day as well. Amen.

Hugs to all, Nancy B

Good Sunday MiMi, Mary and all to follow. I do hope that each of you has had a good weekend so far and that today will be a very good one for you with no fibro issues or pain to deal with.

Weather, when the heck does it get to where it need not be mentioned? It will be hot and muggy here today just as it was yesterday. And did we get some down pours yesterday and some over night as well. The rain went thru here in spurts and clouds so dark and foreboding that DH and I eyed the storm shelter as those clouds came nearer, but no alerts to run for it came on the phone. But OMG the rain those clouds had in um. More rain due in today, again, in spirts. Hope they will not be strong and that they will not cause damage. My heart and prayers go out to those in OK. I will again get gift cards to drop off at my local church to be used where needed in OK.

MiMi, sorry to say those rain clouds and winds are heading towards you. We had lightening, a lot of it, yesterday and they say more today. Hope by the time it gets to your back yard it's nothing more than a few sprinkles.

MiMi, speaking of ribs, etc. DH picked up Tri Tips yesterday and is going to be smoking them this afternoon. He is all about the rub, the chips, the timing. It's an art form to him this bar b que-ing. Now I haven't had meat for a long long time and it will be hard to resist long smoked Tri Tip. I love bar b que pork and beef and today will be a true test of my will power to NOT eat it.

Mary, I had to smile, you sound like my DH. He loves the new tech but is not very good at getting on board with it. LOL I on the other hand love new tech and can't wait to try the new stuff out. As for typing not many of us do type text or insert info with typing those little keys. I use the mic and just talk my stuff in. It's a simple app, most smart phones have it already, and it's such a time saver.

DH and I got everything, every errand done yesterday before the rains came. Got to KHOLS and got DH a new belt, 50% off, then put in my extra 15% off coupon which made it possible for him to buy this great California tank top which was reduced from 30 to 7 and with the coupon it too was 15% off so we got it pretty much for free and then they gave me a 10 dollar off coupon for anything I'd buy over the next two weeks to use once. So Win Win at KHOLS yesterday. Also did pretty good at Good Will and Big Lots. Now I'm pretty much done shopping for the next few weeks, but happy that I'm caught up with getting those things I really have put off getting, gotten.

I've also even got the marketing for the week out of the way, although Senior's Wed is coming and I do so hate to miss the discounts and extra 10% off, but need very little. Tomorrow after DH comes home from his early morning fishing we will attempt to paint the porc, back deck and rails. Over due by a year, and when it's damp here it doesn't help us by making the rails and flooring out there peeling so today will be cleaning them so we can paint. this flurry of repair and upgrading is just me getting the yard ready for the little one's visit in a week or two. Gosh it will be so nice to have all three of my grandsons together. My 5 year old grand daughter will most likely try to run the show, but I'm thinking this time she'll be out voted by the boys. No princess games for them. LOL

Okay, will close this here by wishing each of you a wonderful day.. lots of sunshine, no thoughts of fibro issues or pain...
Gentle hugs, Linda R

Hi. Im new in the discussion. Former North Carolinian moved to FL to be in warmer weather hoping to feel better. In all honesty I feel worse. SN: I do love the weather though! Anyway I'm sorry to hear of your situation. I can certainly relate. On top of having all over Fibryo pain I have arthritis in my low back. I dont think I've slept a full night in the last couple years. I havent tried in a recliner being I dont have one and the meds for spasms make me sleep so I just fall out on an ice pack or heatingb pad depending on how I feel. So since we are all in this together, I will definitely say a prayer for us all as we continue to fight the good fight of life to have some sort of normalcy. God bless Anerica!

Welcome Alisabusybee.....MiMi in NC....I just wanted to comment about your post....I am one of the FMers here who has slept in a recliner (Cat Napper is the BEST in my own opinion....I have had several and would NOT buy anything else)....since 2005....not by choice though. I, too, was unable to sleep much at all and I have finally just in the last few weeks gotten relief from my lower back pain. I I do sleep on pillows everywhere. Now I want to tell you that perhaps you should do some research on *MORTON'S TOE...as I truly think that this was causing my lower back pain....(who would have thought that your feet could be so very important? well....for one....I had NO CLUE)....anyway, it is very strange just how I found out about this....my DD will have to get all of the credit for this and I am so very glad that she shared it with me.

I did some research after she suggested it to me and then I decided to try the P5P....since it seemed like I have a lot of symptoms of Morton's Toes....carpal tunnel, kidney stones and lower back pain. OMG....I can NOT even believe this...and within a very short time (less than 2 weeks) I was able to *feel* a difference....I have had a lot of pain for many months now....actually I am sure it has been 2 years at least....because I went to a kidney specialist last year who had no idea what was causing my pain. (I had a follow up appt in Dec which I canceled....nothing had changed. He was unable to help me before so I knew that he would not know anything to do now.

OK...anyway....this might or might NOT be what is causing your lower back pain, but it never hurts to do your own research, especially when it seems like the doctors can NOT figure out what is wrong with us.

I hope you will check out the info under *tips* and *resources* and be sure and review the *member toolbox* too. Some good *tools to try*.

Have you gotten your Vitamin D level checked? If not, you might want to speak to your doctor about this. Low Vitamin D can cause additional pain for some people...(it did for me and others here on this site)...and it can also affect other illnesses as well.

I am sorry that Florida weather did not help your pain. I know that when we went on vacation a few years ago....to Las Vegas, I was shocked that I can tell a difference in how I felt. I assumed it had something to do with the weather....which might or might not be the case.

OK....just wanted to welcome you and tell you that I hope you will post often.

Take care and good luck.

Thanks so much. Not sure about the morgan's toe, but I'm definitely gonna look into that. I have just decided this morning to look online at some info bc of aggreviation of not sleeping and pain. I am up early due to taking my granddaughter to school, but I wake all night long trying to get comfortable. My husband bought us a new bed with a firm side for him and a softer side for me (not to be confused with the sleep number), but that still doesn't give me the relief I need. I read your posting to my husband this morning & he says we're looking for a recliner. . Thanks for the tips I'm def gonna chk out the resources & tools.

Another exhausting Sunday morning with mom and dad..this morning Dad was better..but mom seemed to have gone to a bad place..just wasn't very pleasant..

DH is getting some dinner ready to take over there tonight..

I am so exhausted..my neighbor hired a friend's son to dog sit while they are gone...I hadn't seen him there for two days..so got her to call me..and I went over and let the dog out and fed him..I never did see him get there last night..so must have been out late..but he was there when I got up this morning..then left early for church..haven't seen him since. I was so worried about that dog last night..I couldn't sleep..not like I don't have enough on my plate to worry about..and I didn't really need to worry about it..you know...you just can't stop yourself from worry sometimes..

Nancy...I am so sorry..I must have missed something on your DIL...so sorry if things are not going well...I hope they get better...not sure what all is involved..

Linda..glad the storms didn't cause any trouble there..so much bad weather in the country..I just noticed N. Carolina is getting some..so Mimi..I do hope things are ok there..

Have a good week everyone...it will be busy for me..my school got a new student two weeks before the end of school and they need some extra coverage on her..sounds like it will be a challenging week..but extra two hours for me..

I am posting late tonight. I have felt so bad all day. Friday I went to Walmart to get groceries. I got an electric scooter but I had to pull the grocery cart behind me. It finally caught up to me this morning. I can barely move. I have such a horrible headache. I slept most of the day, but still feel sleepy. I did manage to do dishes and make homemade ;pizza for dinner. I am too tired now to eat. I hope everyone will have a good week. Thanks for all the prayers for my sister. She was so happy when I told her that she cried. I am always bragging what a wonderful family we have here.

Soft hugs to all,
Debbie

Aww Debbie so sorry-- I just hate shopping walmart! nothing personal against the business but its so darn huge! and then you know, if you have fibro fog you're gonna end up going through the whole thing more than once.

We have an Aldi store here and I get almost all my groceries there cuz it is small and inexpensive. I never am in line long either.

praying for your sis!
