intranasal lidocaine therapy
Derrick_Louisville posted:
Has anyone ever used intranasal lidocaine therapy? It involves taking a long qtip soaked in Lidocaine and holding as far up the nasal cavity as possible for 10 minutes.

My wife saw a new doctor yesterday and they used this and it had immediate effects. Muscles released and relaxed. She slept well for the first time in months. I would like to see if there are any other people have used this therapy and if the effects continue long term.

Replies would be appreciated.

Hello Derrick and welcome.....MiMi in NC....ok, I have to ask so what this something new that is for Fibromyalgia patients for pain or it is used for migraine headaches?

What kind of new doctor did your wife see? One who treats FM or was the doctor a specialist in something else?

I am glad that your wife was able to get immediate results from the treatment and that she slept well for the first time in months. I think we all know just how important sleep is to us FMers to begin with.

I hope you can share more about this with us.

Take care.

BetteK replied to dollbug's response:

I just googled "intranasal lidocaine and got a lot of info. Sounds like the new doc was a neurologist.

Hey, anything that can stop migranes or even cluster headaches must be a boon for those of us who are experiencing those particular dragons. Now let's hear about how it has absolutely no side effects!

You all know me. I think we have a neurological disorder. That's what neurologists treat. Of course, some of them don't believe in fibromyalgia just like so many other docs.
