Morning FMily....MiMi in NC where it is raining again*****so much rain....there are places in NC which are flooded....good grief....the rain that we have gotten this year is almost unreal. I truly think I have had enough for a while anyway. When it rains so much it is good to see the sun shine and no rain for a while. At least we can say that it has NOT been a dry season.

I did rest good last night but I woke up and was not feeling rested....I think a lot of it is the rain...I can feel it in my fingers today. Scattered showers are expected all week but today will be the worse.

I hope everyone had a nice week-end and I hope that you were able to get some rest. This is the last week before school starts in most places. Another new school year. I sure hope it is better than last year. I asked my GS if he is ready for school and he told me he did not want to go. It just might be another longggg year for him. I am not sure that he likes to sit still for any length of time, which I am sure makes it hard for him in school.

Welcome to the new members who have joined our support group recently. I am sure that soon each of you will find the right combination of tools which will help you cope better. It does take a trial and error process to find the right tools that will work so hang in here with us and learn what others have found that makes a difference for them.

Vitamin D....this is my favorite tip....and I try to include it in most of my posts here. Low Vitamin D can cause additional pain for some people and it can also affect other illnesses as well. Be sure and speak to your doctor about having your Vitamin D level checked....it is a simple blood test BUT you must ASK the doctor to run it. I would have thought that by now it would have been included in the *normal bloodwork* that the doctors do.....but I am not sure that this has taken place yet. Some things seem to take a long time.

Vitamin and supplements are my way of coping with my FM pain. If only I could find something that would help my chronic fatigue now. I continue to try to find something that might work for it as well.

Learning how to pace, pace and pace even more is a way of life for most FMers....this is really important. Pushing ourselves to the limit is NOT part of what we can do any longer. You will find out that when you do this, you will PAY dearly for doing so.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it on this Monday.

Have a great day.

Good Morning All!

Cool here, but heading to 80 this afternoon. I had a sweater on last night. Hey Mother Nature - it's still summer!

Things are starting to go right. They took Dad off the med I hate, and he's doing so much better! Two siblings reported that he was awake, alert and speaking clearly. I'll go up later, but if his mind clears I hope he'll be ok at home. This was my first stint as his medical proxy, and it wasn't easy. I hate that the doc kept ignoring my requests to get him off the "detox" med, and that the nurses in the hospital kept giving it to him "to calm him" when they really were knocking him out so they wouldn't have to deal with him.

So I've been symptomatic the past couple weeks. My big joints - shoulders, elbows, hips, knees - are killing me. I see the doc next week, and I can't see making an appt this week for... I don't know what. I don't even feel like knitting. [GASP> I made my regular blood donation over the weekend, and there have been no major after effects. [YAY!>

I should hear later about work for the next 3 weeks. Fingers crossed. I've had 2 weeks of 'vacation' (one mine, one the woman I'm working with) and I'm ready to go back to work. I'm still expecting a couple of payments, which will help pay for my vacation.

And I started my Christmas shopping. [OMG!>

Wishing you all the best day you can possibly have,
Lou

Good morning all... Not as rushed this morning for I have a Dr appointment... So my world is put on hold for a me check... lol...

I didn't sleep well last night... Up every hour... finally gave up the ghost about 4 am... Sat in front of my computer with no purpose lol... Rather brain dead myself right now lol...

My son is up and soon my grandson will join us to prepare for hi second week of school... Second full week that is... They returned to school the 7th... He is enjoying 1st grade this year... He is proud as a peacock that he doesn't have recess anymore... He has PE... "It's funner... cuz I am a big kid now..." LOL...

My granddaughter is playing hooky from preschool today & spending the day with her mom...

I am going to make myself have a short day... I pray anyway... Hopefully I can spend a few hours at the hospital & come home to a decent supper with a couple of friends & my youngest son... We have bee eating on the run a lot... Or so without the energy we have just handled cereal lol... Time for a good steak... Baked potato... etc...

At the hospital the cook said I am i a rut... He assures me that he does know how to cook more then french fries & BLT's... LOL... And a gal can't live on cottage cheese & salad ad fries and BLT's alone he says.. lol... I must give him a chace to prepare me something nice before our hospital stay is over lol...

Well... I have a couple of things to do before my appointment... I fell asleep writing in my diary for my counselor last night so it never got completed... I think... I am sure I have a few things to spill out... lol... I really think keeping a diary is helping a lot... I started it a couple of months ago to deal with my pain and some problems in a more positive manner... now it is coming in handy...

You all take care & have a great Monday...

Love... Jan/Dakota

morning...

I was up at three this morning..tried to go back to sleep..tossed and turned and now am up...

Mimi...I surely do hope you get some decent weather around there this week..

Lou..I can so relate to the problems with overmedicating your dad..been there...I am sure once you get him off a lot of these meds..things will improve..it isn't fun being the one that has to be there..and there is nothing worse than when the hospital or the doctors don't listen to you...I am changing my mom's doctor just for that reason...

jan..hope your day is ok..and that things continue to get better...glad you are doing a diary..I should do that..can't seem to make myself do it..

Thanks Cece, I thought for a while like I was the one unbalanced. His doc has seen him three times since Dad fell July 7. They sent in a shrink who decided he was "DT-ing" and out him on the med. It's been 6 weeks since the fall, and I'm grateful for the nurses at the rehab center standing up and saying what's right!

Good afternoon everyone. We have what is likely a final shot of heat this week. It was 87 today and 90 is scheduled for tomorrow. The humidity is high so it's sticky here too.

I had a rough last nightshift with a big breakdown at 2 am, but otherwise they went ok. I took a nap from 8 until noon then awoke to prepare for the 60 mile drive to the off road park.

The event and the people there were fantastic. I introduced a new friend to my hobby and he had a great time. We camped Friday night and rode the Jeep trails all day Saturday. That evening they had a dinner and raffle, I didn't win any of the big stuff, but it was still worth staying for. We headed home at 8:30pm.

On the way home I killed Bambi. I felt so bad. I love animals. Three of us caravanned home, it was lucky I was up front with all the big steel on the front of my Jeep. There was no damage, it just scared the daylights out of me.

When I woke Saturday morning my right ear was half deaf and ringing. The ringing changes tone and volume as I hear different sounds. It's driving me batty. I went to my Dr. today and he could not find anything. My ear canals are not straight so he cannot see the whole drum. They ran tests and confirmed the loss. He could not identify if it was an ear problem or a nerve problem. So he did not want to give me antibiotics just yet. I was referred to a specialist. My Dr. wanted me to see them in the next day or two, the first opening is 9-10. Now his nurse is seeing if he can call and get me in sooner. they are calling me in the am to figure it out.

I have to work thru Thursday, take Friday off, then it's nights again for three days, then Tuesday off and back to days again. That should be a fun run.

I have a bit of reading to do later to catch up on posts. I hope you are all doing well. I missed you guys. I am alive and mostly well. Take care everyone.

yikes Cory....sorry about Bambi, but glad you are ok...I sure wish those animals would stay away from the roads...! You would think they could hear cars coming and not jump in front..but this happens all too often, and not your fault..I have heard that some cars can get very damaged by this kind of thing..We end up with a lot of dead skunk here..but it is hard to feel sorry for them...

Sure hope your ear is ok...

Hi all.. late to the party as usual..
I've been busy all day getting my house back in order after the weekend and working on some orders for my shop that need to go tomorrow.

I'm back to living with just me and dawgs again for a while. Much quieter.

We had a lot of rain again today, although it is clear enough to see a big moon out there--which I'm gonna go watch from my hot tub soon.

Best to all of you! I'm keeping it short as my day is already over long for me.

Thanks Cece, there are a lot of deer hit here and they are big animals. They usually take out the radiator and disable a car.

I forgot to mention, it is also my 18th wedding anniversary today. We don't get to celebrate until later, but it will be nice to go to dinner and not have to work in the am. I also have been at my employer for 20 years as of last Monday. Time sure does move.

Good evening everyone,
It has been pouring rain here since Friday. My yard is flooded. I have to walk in ankle deep water to get to my car. My car would not start yesterday. The fuel pump has to be replaced. I had to borrow my brother's car to take my sister to the doctor today. I have no idea how I will come up with the money to fix my car. My sister had a good check up. She had to have a second surgery on her double mastecomy. She got an infection in both areas where the breast was remove. The doctor had to go in and clean all the infection out. She has had a really rough time. Hopefully things are looking up now.
My new puppy Gracie is growing like a weed. She has doubled in size in just 3 weeks. She is still going to be a small dog. She is asleep at my feet. Her and my black lab play hard all day together. So both sleep very hard at bedtime.
Jan, I am so happy to hear your son is recovering. It will be a long journey for him. I will keep praying for him and your family.
Cory - I hope your hearing gets better. Congradulations on your anniversarys.
I hope everyone had a good week, Soft hugs to all.
