Morning FMily....MiMi in NC where it is cloudy and looks like NC might get some showers today. I have not heard the weather yet so I do not know. I do hope each of you had a good night's rest and I hope today will be a good day for us all with little to no pain.

I have a doctor's appointment today, actually it is this afternoon. I am really very tired this morning so I should have a *fun* day.
I guess I might find out what can be done about my knee problems or perhaps I will be sent somewhere else. I have no idea. I was hoping that perhaps it would just get better on its own but I do not think that is going to happen.

My GS will be turning 4 on Saturday and he is having a party. I hope the weather will be good for this. I can not believe he is 4 already and soon will be starting school before we know it. My time does fly by. My GD will also be here this week-end so she will get to be share in celebrating his birthday as well.

Welcome to the new members who have joined our FM support group. I am sure that soon each of you will find something that will help you cope better. It does take a trial and error process which does take time. Hang in there though and learn all you can about what others have found that has made a difference for them.

Vitamin D....so important for a lot of people these days. Be sure and speak to your doctor about getting your Vitamin D level checked. Low Vitamin D can cause additional pain for some people and it can also affect other illnesses as well.

Someone won the lottery....in SC. Lucky person waking up this morning a rich person.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Have a great day and remember to pace, pace and pace even more.

MiMi,

Haven't you misspelled your own name when in a hurry? I have.
Of course, now I can blame it on fibrofog, but we all know better.

Good luck with your knee and your doctor. Not knowing is the hardest part. Remember what it was like before your FM diagnosis? You felt awful. No one could tell you why. You went from doctor to doctor. You read every medical article you could find. And you worried that you had some dire disease that would kill you--painfully.

Go get some answers. Or at least the right questions.

And have a much better day than you thought you would have.

Ha I am so tired I didn't even see* that it was spelled wrong!
Good morning....I had a rough time getting to sleep after coming home from the baby. My mind just keeps making lists and running over the "care of a baby".

Things are great at their house with the baby she is eating, sleeping and pooping. JUST what she is supposed to do. Little fuss at this time and hopeful the calm mother has made a calm baby.

Today I try and get my own list done. The pool, sandbox, apple tree swing, laundry it is all on the roster to be accomplished. I don't care what I do as long as I can stay outside in the beautiful weather.....blue blue sky as Bette said. That's what I have today 48* right now but going into the upper 70's they said. Great for finishing the pool.

I am itching to prune back the bushes and trees but I think waiting til dormant is the rule right? Don't want to hurt thrm and have bare bushes next year!

OK I got up late as I didn't get in the bed til after 1a.m. and I can't say when i finally passed out.

Hugs to all.

Mimi I hope a new trick for a new knee will come to you today. There is so much happening in all fields...I bet he has a fix for you. O U C H is all I can say. It is a pest.

Happy Thursday! I usually misspell my name, MiMi, so don't feel badly! I tell people I have "dyslectic fingers"!!

Cool her in the 60s and going to 75 today. In the last few days of summer I'm trying to conjure up thought of the heat waves of July and August. You know those days - when you're so hot you swear your elbows are sweating?

I have to confess I hate the extremes in temps, but I've come to like cold weather more. Why? I can always put on another sweater but when it's hot you can't do a darned thing about it!

I start PT this afternoon. I have the "prescription for fro the doc, and I have no idea what he's asking for. I have 5 major pains, all on my right side - shoulder, elbow, hip, knee and foot. I'm hoping to feel better soon!

I'm home to day and have a ton of stuff to do. I tried to put it all in my phone on a To-Do list, deleting items as I got things done, but I only get a real feeling of accomplishment when I write it on paper and cross it off. See. technology isn't perfect!

I wish you all the best day you can possibly have,
Lou

Hi all.. good evening again. Saw my new dr this morning and she set me up with appointments for a spine specialist and a neurologist & also put me back on blood pressure RX & scheduled an echo for my heart as it needs checking every few years.

I see the spine Dr--who I've seen before--he dx'd my cervical spine deg. disc/arthritis. At the time I was supposed to keep going back and eventually get work on my mid & lower spine--but Hubby's job moved and i moved..and let it go until now when I have problems in both my legs so need to see what's up with the spine again.

The neuro is about the weird sleep issues I 've been having and some day time now too. I see both these folks next week--so that's good, getting it going.

I'm good with the new clinic-- very efficient and thorough. I felt good about it. Hopefully the appointments next week will also be effective and whatever is going on in my brain & spine will be figured out and some plan to fix or treat it all.

Nancy-- so happy for the new baby!
Mimi--I hope you get some info on the knees and maybe a non-surgical option--although--i have to say--if you need knees done--DO it--cuz being immobile is deadly. That's pretty much what got my Mom going downhill was avoiding a knee replacement.

Lou- best of luck with your PT.

I guess that's it for me. I have some work to do in my shop so that will keep me busy while I wait for the apts next week. Had another one of those spells last night--so I guess that means it wasn't celebrex, which is good cuz I am hurting without it. took one today and will take another one later tonite. Back to my usual RX schedule now, since I could not figure out that any of them cause those episodes.

Missed my hot tub this morning and I can also feel that. That is one really good tool. I'm scared to see the electric bill though. But I will tell myself (and hubby) that it would be spendy to join a gym and drive to one daily too.

Gotta do what you gotta do.

Be Blessed folks!

Mary,

It is just so great that you had a good visit with the clinic today.
Hopefully, in the next few weeks some of your problems will be ironed out. They are so varied and so confusing, no wonder you need different specialists.

Now just remember to go slowly with all the tasks you planned for this weekend. And plan on some time in the hot tub. Maybe with hubby?

Lou,

Hope your P.T. went well. Some therapists work well with us, and some manage to trigger flares. Hope you found a good one.

You are so right about cold being better than heat. I only have a problem when one part of my body is icy cold but the rest of me is sweating. Then it's time to bundle up the offending part and sit the rest of me in front of a fan or some A.C. You wouldn't believe the stares while I sit in front of my cooler of choice wearing gloves inside the mittens on my hands!

Nancy,

Be especially careful with that sandbox.

I was visiting my sister one day when the boys were preschoolers, and we sent them out to play in their cousins' old sandbox. A few minutes later they were screaming. A nest of yellowjackets had made the sandbox their home. Our younger son was stung over 30 times and needed a trip to the E.R.

That was his first exposure, and the aftereffects were milder than they could have been. Today he has multiple allergies, and a similar attack could be deadly.

So be sure to check the sandbox before you let any visiting children play in it.

Mimi, I hope your appt. gave you some answers. Isn't that what we seek every day? Just answers to why we feel what we do?

I posted on Wednesday not seeing Thursday open yet. I woke at 6 to go fishing with my oldest friends. One I met at 7, the other at 9 or so. Great people that are like family. I took time off to fish when the one with the boat could go. The weather forecast looked awful. I am somewhat of an optimist though and hoped and prayed for good. It worked out, mostly...

The fishing was fare, I caught a Northern Pike who was too small, A big, fat perch, and then after a quiet period, caught a Walleye, the ones we were after. They are very good, but he was too small. I caught the most, but we all caught something. It was a great day. We headed back to the dock at 2:15, it was about a mile away. Half way there the fog rolled in, wind picked up, and pouring rain, hail, and lightning. It was really exciting for about 10 minutes. We made it out safe and sound.

It was just a great day where you forget about most of your problems and just be yourself. I needed that in the the worst way. Good therapy.

Lou, I used to think the same of the cold until about 3 years ago, now I flipped, I am fine with the heat, despise the old and the pain it brings me. I wish it were not so. It does not make it easy to survive the MN winter.

Mary, glad things are moving forward for you, I wish you the best. Hot tubs do burn the electricity, but they are so nice, we deserve a few perks.

My big orange cat is on my lap, fall is here. He won't sit in my lap until it's cold. He is a sweet one, he knows when I need him.

Have a good night. Take care everyone.

Cory
