There's some magic in keeping a food diary — one study found it can double a person's weight loss! The researchers discovered that the more food records people kept, the more weight they lost.
With this new WebMD tool you will be able to:
- Set your personal weight goals and WebMD will calculate calorie recommendations on how to achieve them.
- Discover calories and nutrition facts for 1000's of foods and beverages or create your own, all of which you can log to a meal time.
- Choose from 100's of popular activities or add your own to create custom workouts.
- Track your calories and view your progress to stay on track.
- Monitor your nutrient intake with our saturated fat, fat, cholesterol, sodium, carbohydrate, fiber, sugar, and protein trackers.
- View progress reports to see how your weight has changed over time.
Not sure how to use a food diary for the best results? Take a look at these 8 Tips For Making a Food Diary Work For You to get you off on the right track.
Let us know what you think! Do you already keep a food journal of some sort? What do you like (or not like) about your method? Has it helped you lose weight or does it seem like an unnecessary chore?
Please share your thoughts with us below!

I love the fact that it has an exercise option, too! Most trackers I've seen don't help you much with setting up your exercise routine.
I do not want to receive daily Food & Fitness emails any more.
Please help,
Eric
I would really like to utilize this tool but it looks like they haven't fixed it and it's been 4 months since this last post.
What a shame!
I'm happy to hear that so many members are using this helpful tool, along with myself!

Hopefully, you were able to find this information by now and had a lovely trip!

If not, just go to Your Personal WebMD Food & Fitness Planner - Fitness Log. Immediately beneath the Fitness Log tab, you should see a small calendar icon and today's date with arrows on either side. You have two options to update your fitness log for whatever day you choose:
- Click on the calendar icon and a calendar will appear for you to choose what day you would like to enter your fitness information.
- Click on the arrows found beside today's date. The arrow to the left will take you back one day at a time, while the arrow to the right of the date will take you forward one day at a time.

I apologize that you are getting daily reminders after unsubscribing and hope to help you resolve this concern.
Possibly you are still subscribed due to a technical error or maybe the whole process did not go through. Let's quickly recap on subscribing/unsubscribing from the Food & Fitness Planner email reminders to make sure nothing was left out:
You can subscribe/unsubscribe from Food & Fitness Planner email reminders on the Weight & Profile page. Click "Edit your Reminders and Motivations" under the Reminders & Motivations section. Check/Uncheck your reminders and click "Save Changes."
Make sure to go over these steps, again. If the reminders continue, please send an email about this issue to our WebMD Customer Support Team . We do appreciate all feedback and want to help you enjoy the site!
Thanks!
Amelia
I am sorry that you are both experiencing this concern. After reading your posts, I went into my own Personal Food & Fitness Planner and logged in a few foods for yesterday that I had not done over the weekend. However, I am not finding this problem and am seeing the identical, correct calories in the Food Summary as well as the Food Log for each day.
Please do not hesitate to send an email to our Customer Support Team about this matter. We appreciate the feedback and want the best for our members. Hopefully, the WebMD Support Team will be able to quickly resolve the concern.
Take care and keep us posted!
