Hey everyone Im new to this but I have a question I was hoping someone can help me with. I am currently 23 weeks pregnant, but when I was aprox 20 weeks along I decided I wanted to start swimming again. I use to swim laps more regularly but haven't in a while. I swam for the first time in a long time for about 45 minutes with small breaks of walking a lap every now and then. I did this around 9 o'clock AM and I felt fine afterwards until about 5:30 that afternoon. At that time I began getting a burning sensation in arms from my shoulders down into the palms of my hands. If I moved, sneezed anything it would flare up. This lasted and got worse all through the night until about 4:30 the next morning when it eased up. I spoke with my OBGYN who said that it sounded like I had a buildup of lactic acid that my body had trouble getting rid of. This is exactly what it felt like! Unfortunatly he had no idea why it was so delayed and why it lasted. I really would like to go back to swimming but I am afraid this will happen again. Does anyone know why this happened almost 7 hours after swimming and what I can do about it? I would appriciate any advice or guidance.
