In honor of the post about the pizza survey, let's swap recipes this week, all things Italian!

Who's got one to share?

Oh I do!

I make a quick and easy Stromboli.

Take a roll out dough, like crescent rolls, and flour work space.
Roll out dough til it gets to be about 12"x9".
Layer with provolone cheese sliced, sliced deli ham, then sliced salami, next pepperoni. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese then lastly some grated parmesan cheese.
Fold one end and then the other, meet in the middle. Then fold one side over the other. Brush with beaten egg.
Bake at 350 for about 25 minutes, until melted and browned.
Slice and eat!

Ingredients for dough
  • 1 (.25 ounce) package active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)
  • 2 cups bread flour
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons white sugar
Directions for dough
  1. In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Let stand until creamy, about 10 minutes.
  2. In a large bowl, combine 2 cups bread flour, olive oil, salt, white sugar and the yeast mixture; stir well to combine. Beat well until a stiff dough has formed. Cover and rise until doubled in volume, about 30 minutes. Meanwhile, preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  3. Turn dough out onto a well floured surface. Form dough into a round and roll out into a pizza crust shape. Cover with your favorite sauce and toppings and bake in preheated oven until golden brown, about 20 minutes.
Ingredients for toppings
1 red bell pepper
1/4 red onion
1 pkg sliced mushrooms
1 tbsp olive oil
1 jar of Ragu Pizza Sauce
1-12 oz pkg shredded mozarella cheese
pamesan cheese to taste


Slice the bell pepper and onion into bite size pieces. Heat olive oil in a skillet. Saute onion, pepper and muchrooms using salt and pepper to taste. Spread sauce over dough. Add mozarella cheese. Add vegetables. Sprinkle parmesan cheese on top.

Bake at 375 until crust is crisp and lighty browned on edges and cheese is bubling and lightly browned.
