Histamine foods to avoid when allergies flare up

My seasonal allergies have been out of control. I wake up feeling tired and it takes half the day to clear my head. I am taking an OTC allergy med and someone just mentioned I should stay away for histamine foods.

Have you ever heard about this? Can foods contribute to seasonal allergies?

If this is correct what foods should I avoid?

Hi ElanoreAnne,

I did a search for you here on WebMD. There are definite food allergies and foods that could set off allergies, but I'm not positive about "Histamine foods".

Here are a few places on WeMD that you can read into.

and
Food Allergy and Food Intolerances

Ultimately you need to talk to your doctor or specialist to be sure of anything you may be experiencing.

Let us know what you find out and how things are going!
