    Sometimes when I know that my day is going to be long I try a good protien snack, the favorite for me and my kids is salt and pepper tofu and black olives. I take firm tofu and dry it for 30 minutes in a paper towel then cube it and put some salt and pepper on it. Have some black olives with it and it gives you enough for the rest of the day, Tuna crackers also good. apples and peanut butter.

    My daughter who is a dancer and is always trying to fit in protein in between meals has had some success adding a couple of mozzarella sticks at the end of the evening.

    Other great protein snacks:

    any hard cheese, homemade jerky, baked tofu strips, nuts (especially lower fat options like nuts), edamame, chips and black bean dip, hummus and pita, kipper snacks, toasted soy nuts, yogurt. These aren't all super high in protien and many come in lower and higher fat options, so it's good to chack labels.
