Why not? That's a pretty sweeping reccomendation, and one I can't think of a good reason to follow.

I agree with Rohvannyn. This makes no sense at face value. The logical conclusion from the flawed premise would be that soup is bad for you because it contains water.
PetuniaPea replied to EricE_MA's response:
I agree. I drink a glass of water with my meals every day, and I have no issues. I have a smoothie every morning with almond milk, and yes, occasional soup too.

The only exception--which isn't specified in the original post--is drinking excessive amounts of fluids with meals. That's never a good idea, and it's just common sense. An excessive amount of water during meals can possibly dilute important enzymes or hydrochloric acid, making digestion uncomfortable or less effective.

But one or two cups are fine, in my opinion.
ShawnClark responded:
water drink during eating improves digestion system. There are lots of myths who says don't drink water during lunch or dinner but I don't believe in it
kattys responded:
I completely agree with ShawnClark. Water with a meal will help your food to be covered more easily with digestive juices. Go for spring water instead of normal tap water.
compoundia responded:
I am agree. Always drink water 30 mins after eat or 30 mins before eat. Not during eating.
rohvannyn replied to compoundia's response:
Compoundia, why do you bother spamming this old thread with your face agreement? I'm not even convinced that you are a different person!

Water is good to drink. Everyone knows this. The cleaner the better, the less things in it the better. You may not need eight full glasses a day, but most people don't drink enough. Even if you didn't drink water during dinner, water is in your saliva, in your stomach acid, and in the food itself. You need it to help you digest, you need it to keep your blood pure, you need it to keep from dying.

Why waste time on useless "advice" that helps no one?

drinking water does aid digestion but i would drink after eating if i drank before i would be full
rohvannyn replied to An_254017's response:
And.... we combine this with spam? An eight or ten ounce glass of water won't fill you up. Even it it does, most people that I know consume too many calories anyway. Please don't spam.

I too disagree with drinking water while eating, I have been doing it for so many years and i have never had any issues with my health at all.
