Drink water before a meal.

I suggest drinking water thirty minutes before a meal because many people mistake dehydration for hunger. By drinking water you take away that part and will truly know if and how hungry you are.

I have a different view regarding this. Water with a meal will helps food to be covered more easily with digestive juices. It is preferable to consume spring water than normal tap water.

Yes,you are right. Drinking water 30 mins before meal is very useful for digestion of food.

Yes, it certainly can help to improve rough, dry skin that is all too common this time of year, which can be worsened by dehydration.

I thought that the water before a meal tip was good for preventing overeating. I never thought of it as a method of preventing dehydration.

It's good for both. Sometimes we are actually thirsty but interpret it as hunger. Except in cases of drowning (ha ha), water is usually a good thing. Water before a meal can help you fill up your stomach. Water during a meal can help digestion and slow down your intake. Water pretty much any time is fine!

Drinking water will provide significant effect to your health improvement if you know when, how and how much water you should drink in a day. You should drink water one hour before and after having meal and avoid drinking too much water in meal time.

I was taking this with good humor but this is getting really, really stupid. Water is water is water. Make sure it is clear and clean and pure, make sure you get enough, and who cares about when you drink it? Are you saying you can't have soup for a meal? Water is in our food, too, did anyone think about that? Fruits and vegetables are full of water. Food is cooked in water. Drink it during a meal or don't, it'll all go in your stomach anyway.

I cannot believe how much dogma there is surrounding such a simple, life sustaining fluid.

Enough one liners. Give me studies, evidence, and research.

I do agree with your point as our body intake water in different forms like we directly drink water then water comes in the form of salad, fruits and vegetables. As everyone know lukewarm water is good for digestion, so before meal drink lukewarm water so that it will give enough space for having a good meal.After that wait for 10-15 minutes then drink rest of the water.

Drinking water before meal makes you feel full thus reducing your hunger which leads to weight loss. And drinking water between the meals would slow the digestion process and reduce the body's ability to produce enough digestive enzymes to digest foods properly.
