GERD that won't go away

I was diagnosed with GERD about 10 years ago and have been taking Prevacid for it. About a month ago, my acid reflux got so bad, I went to emergency room....followed up by an endoscopy from my gastrologists. The doctor didn't find any tumors or any reason for my acid to be so bad again and changed my medication to aciphex, but so far, I am still miserable. I can barely even eat a piece of toast and I still get acid reflux...anybody else have this problem or have any suggestions as to what I can try to alleviate this horrible acid?

Have you changed your diet to a GERD-friendly one and also made lifestyle changes? In some, medications alone are not sufficient to cope with the problem. And you may also have to change medications until you find one - and the proper dosage of it - that helps you. They're not all alike.

Have you also been tested for food intolerances? They can sometimes present symptoms that mimic GERD and can confuse the situation.
