Barretts Esophagus

Hi,
I have been diagnosed with Barretts Esophagus. I have changed my diet and added lots of vegetables, brown rice and fruit to my diet along with simple plain protein.
I eat salad at lunch and with dinner and have been using 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil with each salad instead of salad dressing.
Can you tell me if the oil is OK to use. I have heard that oil can trigger GERD. I thought this was just fried foods with oil and that the plain oil would be OK.
Does anyone have any experience with this?
Thanks
