Persistant Reflux

I have been battling reflux for a while now. I just finally broke down and went to the doctor last week after trying everything under the sun with no success. I am now on prescription prilosec and tagament. It's been since friday and I still have reflux. He did say it might take a few weeks, but I have also severely altered my diet. I don't understand why it's not going away. I don't feel a burning in my chest, but I have acid in my throat that feels like someone dropped a ball of menthol in it. I also have stomach cramps sometimes and my mouth is dry. I can't seem to drink enough water and when I do drink it, the acid gets worse. I am just ready to rip my hair out because this is consuming my life.

There is a product called Zergrit, its got an over-the-counter form now. I remember taking this when it was still prescription and it was in trails. I like it a lot. I had to take it at first because prilosec wasn't enough. It has an added ingredient in it called sodium bicarbonate. It helps to neutralize more acid in the gut. Try the over the counter version, or ask your doc for a script. I hope this helps.
