Gerd with shortness of breath
An_198115 posted:
I was diagnosed last August with gerd, put on omeprazole 40 mg for 4 months till doctor told me to go off as having such bad side effects so now on rantidine at bedtime which is working better. My issue is I experience shortness of breath and have such head congestion, trying everything to relieve that with no success so seeing a ent doctor in 2 weeks. Does anyone else suffer from this having gerd?
Daisygirl243 responded:
The GERD affects my breathing. I have asthma and it makes it worse. I am taking Pepcid right now for the GERD but I am going to see a specialist in a few weeks. A lot of times, GERD and asthma go hand in hand. You may want to get checked out for asthma. Since I have been having problems with GERD, I was put on a short term steroid, in addition to the Advair, Singulair and Proventil that I already take. Do you have allergies? I get congested this time of year unless I take my Allegra everyday.
