Pain Between Soulder Blades & middle of Chest

I have not been diagnosed with GERD but have experienced a lot of acid reflux issues. I just had an episode a few week back where I raced home from work, scarfed down some spaghetti and salad and then went out and did some quick yard work. I ended up getting severe back pain and pain the center of my chest and since then have had acid reflux which can be flare up for no reason.

My question is has anyone had any chiropractic manipulations. I see a chiropractor and I always feel like the pain starts in my back first and then moves to my chest. It always seems like it is in the area of T3-T4 which affects the digestive system, heart and lungs. I may be crazy but when my back feels good, I have no issues with my digestive system. I don't need any medication at all and seem to be able to eat what I want.

I too have the pain that wraps around under my left arm and also into the center of my chest. I wonder how much of the chest pain we are experiencing is more muscle skeletal due to the tightening associated with the symptoms.

Has anyone experienced this?

I actually have the exact same symptom of pain in the back. It's nagging pain. Over the past couple of months on 3 occasions it has radiated to the fromt below the sternum. The back pain intensified first. When I go running my back actually feels better for a few hours.

This is a little late for your purposes but I want to say it for posterity. Pain that starts in your chest and runs down your left arm and shortmess of breath are the symptoms of a heart attack. Take care of that NOW. GERD won't matter if you're dead.

Yes. I experience that all the time. I also have back and neck problems. My chiro told me when I get that band around my chest it means a rib is out of alignment. You need to make sure this is what is wrong and not a possible heart attack. Better safe then sorry.

I was wondering if you found out what this is? I have the same issues. I get a pain in between the shoulder blades (right on the spine) and it radiates to the chest. I just had an upper gi done a few days ago. I have acid reflux and damage done (barrett's esp.) . I think the pains are from acid reflux but i am not sure. I also have a hernia which causes the acid reflux. I feel exactly like you explain it. Do you have an update?
