Constipation Issues?

I'm just going to give a little of my background before I ask for help on my issues...

I'm a 21 yr old female. I married in Jan of 2010. I know too young to be married, nevertheless, I don't have any children or never been pregnant, and I plan to keep it that way for awhile. I started taking Birth Control called Loestrin24 in April of 2010 before that I took a depo shot (HORRIBLE!) But I never really had stomach problems until just recently (3 or 4 monthsa ago). I had been really regulary as far as bowel movements, 2 per day.(in morning lunch and evening sometimes) but here lately I've been having constipation issues. I went to my doctor about 2 weeks ago and she put me on another pill that doesnt have ANY iron whatsoever, figured that was the prob since me and iron have had problems before with vitamins. So I have to wait till my next cycle til I start next pack, so im on nothing.... yet I stil have constipation issues.

I drink water daily. And eat cereals with fiber almost everyday. What else should I do? Is it bc of not taking pills that my BMs have changed?

Anyway I just dont want to get hemmorroids.. So what would be the best medicine or laxative I should take if any? HELP!!!!!!

It's been about six months since you asked so maybe it's no longer a problem. The way to avoid constipation is to drink a lot of water and, when necessary, take a stool softener in the evening.

If you have problems with iron keep an eye on iron in the foods you eat because that will increase problems and stool softeners do help.
