I have had this for at least 10 years now and my attacks are getting much more with bad chest pain. I just was at the ER on Thursday thought I was having a heart attack this time. I have had all the test with heart and I too am in the clear this time too. I just wish they knew how to really help us. I have been there with all of you. What can we do to stop the attacks is what I want to know. Some times I am woke up in the middle of the night. I have been eating different nothing is helping.
I am just thinking every attack is this my time and I am not ready to go.

Greenbird, have you been scoped lately and do you know the extent of your reflux issues? When people start getting chest pain it can be due to esophageal spasms. When that happens there are only a couple of things that can be done to try to tamp them down. The first 'defense' is to make sure everything possible is being done to control the extent of the reflux. So diet, lifestyle changes and medication has to be optimized. Over-and-above that, there are some specific anti-spasm meds that can be tried. You could check out the use of bentyl, nitroglycerin, and other forms of specific calcium-channel blockers.
