World AIDS Day, December 1st 2012

So where are we in the last 30 years since the first case of AIDS was recognized by the CDC? To celebrate World AIDS Day , follow our AIDS Retrospective Slideshow and find out.

"AIDS-related illnesses have killed more than 30 million people since 1981. That's half as many deaths as in World War II. And it's not over. An estimated 1.1 million Americans are among the 33 million people worldwide who are now living with HIV, the virus that causes AIDS. How did we get here?"

Is there anyone you would like to remember? Share a bit about them in the thread below (no last names or identifying personal information, please).
