wont stop bleeding

I am 44 I have always had a pretty regular period for 30 years lasting about 4 to 5 days every month. I started my period April 1st and I am still bleeding and every once in awhile get cramping for about ten minutes whats going on I dont feel real good? Should I go to the er?
