Dear smjpain: It's good that you did get some stronger hydrocodone (7.5mg), but the persisting/worsening breast infection is not such good news. Some of the nausea may be from the antibiotics and/or the generalized infection. The fatigue could be from the infection and/or stronger pain medication.

Should you contact your MD or the ER? I would urge you to to do what was directed on your ER discharge sheet. Often they will make a follow up plan--and a fall back plan if the person's condition worsens. Usually there are very specific guideline (eg temperature > 101, increased pain, etc. , etc. depending upon the illness). If you have questions you can call the ER and ask to speak to the triage nurse. That person will have access to your records and can go ask a MD if needed.

Yes, a compromised or overwhelmed immune system would likely contribute to your recurrent infections. You should do what you can (rest, eat really well, try to decrease stress, stop smoking, etc.) to help your immune system. Yet it sounds like they are wanting to rule out some underlying condition which may be sabotaging your immune system.

Yours,
Jane

Thanks Jane I will be talking with my Doctor in the morning I am still hurting alot and I don't feel right I am very scared about this I just want to feel better. I thought I was done with pain meds now I am back on them again. But I guess I would rather be comfortable then in pain. I think I am just going to tell them they need to admit me to the hospital so I can get some better antibiotics because these one's are not working
