Hi Jane went to my GYN today he was very very concerned about everything going on he examined my breast right away he said something isn't right I screamed because it hurt so bad. He ordered some blood work and tommrow I have to get another ultra-sound and Mamagram I am scared because he said that there is alot of swelling and the fever isn't good it means my body isn't fighting or is trying to but can't he told me that he would be calling me by friday to tell me what he is going to do next. But he said if my fever gets to 101.0 I have to go to the ER ASAP and have him paged. Then he did an exam it hurt so bad Jane I screamed again and even moved away he said I still have a yeast infection and possibly B.V but he wants to try another round of Diflucan 150mg 2 0f them after I finish the stronger ones and if after that still there he will do further testing he is also worried about the pain I am having still in that area when he does an exam he said I am also very red and swollen compared to when he saw me during surgery. I am sxared Jane what is going on

Jane Harrison Hohner, RN, RNP responded:
Dear smjpain: The need for more prolonged and powerful yeast treatment is not surprising given the volume of antibiotics you have received. It also sounds like you are continuing to fight some prolonged infection in the breast. Your course of recurrent infections is really unusual in a young woman without a known source of immune system suppression (eg poorly controlled diabetes, organ transplant drugs, HIV, etc.). With the breast ultrasound they will likely be looking for an abscess as a possible source of continued infection. Your white blood cell count and indices may also give a clue as to the progress of an infection.

Please let us know how we can support you the best.

Yours,
Jane
