I've been on the pill for about eight months now. And I have always taken it regularly. Last month and this month I got a little messed up. This month I missed three days of the pill, and I got my period ten days early. Now I've had my period for six days, and it doesn't look like it's gonna let up anytime soon. It keeps going from a bright red to a light pink and I have clots. And when it goes to the light pink I wipe a few more times and it comes out red. Is this normal? What should I do?

Unless this is very heavy bleeding, nothing.

It's important to understand that when you're on birth control pills, the hormones in these (well, actually, the lack of hormones in the "placebo" pills) triggers bleeding. When you miss taking the active pills as required, it can trigger bleeding just like taking the week of placebo pills. Sounds like you've thrown off your normal schedule missing these pills and it's going to take a while for your schedule to return to normal.

If the bleeding is heavy and prolonged then the issue of anemia is a possiblity.
