Health Question about lightheadedness and nausea.

I'm sorry if I am asking in the wrong area, I am new to the community.

Today while with friends, we were standing in line for a ride when all of a sudden I got dizzy. I asked for water, but immediately had to sit down because my vision started narrowing and my ears began ringing and felt as if I had cotton balls in them. I started sweating a lot and my face got pale and cool. I drank some water and tried to walk again, when I got the same sensations and began vomiting. Someone with me stated that my lips turned blue.

I've been ill for the last 2 weeks, taking two types of antibiotics (not at the same time), steroids, and an inhaler. I've been feeling better the last 3-4 days and have only been taking the antibiotic as directed by the doc. I ate breakfast this morning and took the antibiotic.

Vitals after the episode: BS 99. HR 100. BP 110/90.

Pregnancy test = negative.

Not really sure what this could be, any suggestions would be appreciated. I will be going to the doctor tomorrow.

Dear An: While our focus here is on "Pelvis World" here are a couple of POSSIBLE explanations for your symptoms:

1. The lightheadedness and nausea may have been a vaso-vagal response. Contained in the first three sections is a good over view of this condition:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vasovagal_response

2. If you were using an albuterol inhaler you might have had a tachycardia (rapid heart rate) episode.

3. It is also possible that the steroids contributed to the dizziness and nausea.

In short, my money is on a vasovagel response. They can be more common when one is standing for a prolonged time. As always, for the most "for sure" answer your own MD is the best resource. Hope you get well soon.

Yours,
Jane
