Today while with friends, we were standing in line for a ride when all of a sudden I got dizzy. I asked for water, but immediately had to sit down because my vision started narrowing and my ears began ringing and felt as if I had cotton balls in them. I started sweating a lot and my face got pale and cool. I drank some water and tried to walk again, when I got the same sensations and began vomiting. Someone with me stated that my lips turned blue.
I've been ill for the last 2 weeks, taking two types of antibiotics (not at the same time), steroids, and an inhaler. I've been feeling better the last 3-4 days and have only been taking the antibiotic as directed by the doc. I ate breakfast this morning and took the antibiotic.
Vitals after the episode: BS 99. HR 100. BP 110/90.
Pregnancy test = negative.
Not really sure what this could be, any suggestions would be appreciated. I will be going to the doctor tomorrow.
In addition, sometimes standing still (i.e., waiting in line for a ride) can cause a drop in blood pressure, triggering the symptoms you describe.
We sometimes get patients admitted with a pre-syncopal episode like you describe and the reason for this is never found and never happens again.
