had endometrial ablation

I had my ablation done in Feb. of 2012. Procedure was painless and fast and I was sent home with anti-nausea pills and weak pain meds. I only really needed them the first and second day. I went back to work the next day, big mistake. I would tell anyone having this procedure give yourself at least 3-4 days to recover. Could have been because I am a nurse and worked a 12-hour shift on my feet, but I still just didn't feel up to it and also attributed it to post-anesthesia. For almost two weeks I had a brownish-tinged watery discharge, which I say would "flood" at times - literally felt like I peed my pants. I was told it was the liquid they put in there at the end of the procedure, but I don't know. I ended up having a bacterial infection as well. All and all I would say I am very happy with the procedure. It's now five months later and my period is a brownish discharge lasting one day and hardly requiring a pantiliner - who could complain about that!!!! I am thrilled that I don't have to worry about gushing through my uniform while at work and passing gigantic clots and the double protecting. Needless to say after the procedure every single pair of underwear I had was ruined due to the spotting. Just when I thought it had ended, the rust-colored spotting would reappear, so be prepared for that. I still get crabby and irritable when it's "due" now and it still comes near the same time each month but so minimal I really don't keep track anymore. I would recommend the procedure to anyone thinking about it. I am disappointed I still have the spotting and I am hoping that goes away in time but I won't complain... still glad I did it.

sorry my thoughts are out of order - thinking of things as I go along : )

Good luck to everyone!
