Period Lasting 2 weeks

Hello,

I'm 32, married and not on birth control. My cycles are usually pretty regular, starting around the same time each month and lasting about 4-5 days. This last time, I was due to start around the 6th of July, but it didn't start until the 14th. There was only light spotting that day, nothing on the 15th, then more spotting on the 16th and then a steady, light bleeding has been going on since then, until today, the 27th so far. Just wondering if I should be worried or not? No stress factors, no weight loss or gain, no changes in diet or exercise. Cramps, lower back pain and breast tenderness, usually present the week before my period, has been present the whole time. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Yes, you definitely should be worried. Bleeding for two weeks is not normal and needs to be checked out by a doctor.

Still light bleeding at the 16 day mark. Don't think cause could be pregnancy, but never having had a child, I don't really know. Husband had me take a home EPT just in case, and it was negative, though I think I imagined a faint pink plus sign. Will be scheduling an appt with the dr anyways, because as you said and I already knew, 2 weeks isn't normal, esp as my cycles are usually pretty normal.

Trying to think of other symptoms I've had or am having. Fatigue is a regular occurance, regardless of how much sleep I get at night. Headaches, some, but not often, bouts of nausea, and having to use the bathroom more.. but i'm drinking a lot more tea and water than I have in the past, trying to cut back on the Dr. Peppers.

Did you ever find out the cause for your long period? I am currently going through the exact same thing. I'm on day 13 of mine.
