I recently read online, that taking a daily dose of DHEA (an over the counter suppliment in the vitamin isle) can improve stress and depression naturally.
Even though I just started taking it, I have seen a very big difference in the way I handle work related stressors, and I find that I am more relaxed. I can process obligations in a much organized manner without feeling like I want to pull my hair out. I have a long history of not being able to regulate my stress level to the point that I have needed medication to reduce the excess adrenaline that I make.
Medication is not always the answer, but having time to meditate to relax is not always an option either. Women wear too many different hats in our lifetime, each day without an outlet. We definately are a very resilient species! Men have their "Man Caves" to go into to destress. Who ever heard of a "Women Cave?!".... oh yeah, men call that the Kitchen! ; )

Yes! I think it's time we had women caves!

(In fact, thank you, Karrie; I think I'm going to start a discussion on exactly that later this month.)

One of the things that have helped me manage my stress foremost was changing my mental outlook on things. I have always had very demanding jobs not to mention a relationship that was draining the life out of me.

Once I changed my mental outlook and stop putting my unrealistic laundry list on my shoulders only things immediately began to improve. One thing I don't anymore also is apologize for being strong, decisive and being firm. I compromise but I lead the pack and when it is all said and done as long as we have a great experience it is all ok.

The biggest physical thing I do is juice green veggies. I know there are a lot of studies that go around this topic but since I have started juicing once a day I have so much energy and mental clarity.

Finally I pray. Everyone may not be a christian but having some type of spiritual base will give you calm that you have never experienced.

Great post, Katurnbow! I especially like the part about shifting your mental outlook. That so often is the key and it's something I can continue to work at myself.
