Looking for feedback. . .

I am 45 and had a total hysterectomy (still have one ovary) 4 years ago due to many complications, heavy bleeding, endometriosis, history of ovarian cysts, etc. The other ovary was spared but with a small cyst. I now have a old blood discharge with some bowel movements, along with varying degrees of abdominal pain. I have a lot of gas all the time, accompanied by some constipation. Oftentimes it seems urine and bowels have to take turns passing through, as if there wasn't enough room in there. I wonder if the cyst that was left after surgery has grown and created a problem of overcrowding. Maybe I'm crazy, but this is the only logical explanation I can come up with. Looking for some experienced medical feedback and/or explanation. Thanks.

I can only speak from personal experience. When I had an ovarian cyst, I had abdominal pain, bloating, and slight spotting (it seems I also had constipation). I'm not clear if you're saying that the blood discharge is anal or vaginal.

Based on my experience and these links, your symptoms do sound logical for an ovarian cyst. These will usually show up on a transvaginal ultrasound.

If it's not that, a couple other things that come to mind are a return of endometriosis and/or adhesions. Here's a link about adhesions -
